"We had looked at multiple different professionals and were so glad we picked New style flooring to do our dream kitchen backsplash. They were very responsive, fair pricing and we were blown away by their high level of workmanship and detail with installing our chevron pattern tile. Marco did a wonderful job making the backsplash really shine. Tony made sure everything was perfection and ensured it was hassle free for us. They wore masks the whole time and were respectful following all COVID protocols. Highly recommend and will use them again for future flooring and tile needs."

Customers say: True professional

"I hired Jeff to take out my old, leaky, fiber glass shower and install a new tile and glass enclosure. Jeff was very responsive, reliable and always available for questions. He coordinated the contractors including plumbers, tilers and glass installers and kept the work moving forward. The work was professional and very well executed. His pricing was very fair with no surprises. I absolutely love my new shower."

"I recently got my bathroom floor tiles changed with Flavius. He did a wonderful job! Took his time to properly install the flooring and even fixed the base flooring to make sure no issues will come up later on. I would definitely recommend him for your tile installation."

Customers say: Quality work

"I hired Alexis Home Remodeling to replace a collapsed bay window with a simpler grid window, rebuild the surrounding wall, and replace a storm door. Edian also replaced the area's small ceiling at the last minute, which was not part of the original contract, and then put a first coat of primer on it for me as a courtesy, even though painting is usually not one of his services. Edian was very accommodating to me throughout, including taking care of my request for a change in the type of replacement window to be installed. He and his crew spent two days on the reconstruction and new window installation, and did a beautiful, professional job. It is a pleasure to see the results. The next time I need a contractor, I will call on them again."

"Pablo called me first and the the rest is history. He visited my home with the professional camera which takes measurements and brought the countertop samples and made recommendations. He recommended a showroom that stocks the type of materials we are interested in. During the installation he helped to remove the faucet and sink and installed them for free. He also removed the old granite countertop for us. Everything went well. I strongly recommend Soares Stone for your countertop project."

"Antonio is great to work with. He's responsive to texts messages, and emails. He works with you to set clear expectations of the work to be completed; however, he's also flexible and will change the scope of the project if needed throughout the process. One of the best parts of working with Antonio is that he's very willing to go above and beyond to make you happy. Our project launched as a simple Bedroom paint/Closet remodel. Soon enough we had Antonio repairing parts of our floor, smoothing out our ceiling, doing touch up work in a separate bedroom and totally rebuilding the closet instead of just doing a quick cosmetic job. Besides a great paint job, Antonio also did some great carpentry in building out an awesome nursery/baby closet. He's also just a really nice, likable guy. He was good to us, and to our little dog who over the course of the week ended up making a new friend! We look forward to hiring Antonio again, and already have him lined up to do some window installation work :) Great guy, and great quality work. I highly recommend."

"I contacted them late on 3/24/19, the next day I got a response. Two days later Silvio came to my house to assess the job and we had the patio installed on 4/2. Silvio and his team were extremely nice and worked very diligently and we’re so happy with our new patio! The price was very competitive as well!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

You can attach tiles to a wall using thin-set mortar. You’ll also need a notched trowel to create grooves within the adhesive so it flattens completely when pressed in and securely holds the wall tiles. Finally, you’ll need grout to smooth the gaps between the tiles and, ideally, a grout sealer to prevent mold. While it sounds simple enough, proper planning and execution are crucial, so carefully review the steps in this guide or hire a pro tile installer to complete this project.

When considering the types of grout for your project, unsanded grout is the best choice for penny tile. Unsanded grout can fit better into narrow spaces, like those between the small penny tiles, and it’s easier to smooth out for a seamless finish. However, if you’re unsure, check with a tile installation pro to determine which grout is best for your specific project.

Yes, you can tile over existing shower tiles, but it's better to remove the old tiles first for the best results. Tiling over existing tiles requires a clean, level surface and proper adhesion. If the old tiles are in good condition, you can roughen the surface to improve adhesion. However, removing the old tiles ensures a smoother, longer-lasting finish and prevents potential issues down the line.

It’s easiest to start from an edge as it gives you a straight line. A problem may arise if your edge doesn’t line up perfectly, in which case it’s best to start from the center. Some think that starting tile from the center adds a focal point in the center of the hearth.

Whether you use a brush or roller depends on the size, shape, and amount of tiles. Rollers are easier to maneuver over large areas and can apply a more even coat of paint in a shorter time frame with no visible brushstrokes. Brushes are best for precision work, particularly in very small areas. If you don't want visible brushstrokes on your painted tiles, you can paint details with small foam brushes instead of bristled paint brushes.
