"Fabulous job! We area already see the difference with the insulation through Mass Save about 25%! Mark and his crew were very professional, courteous, and really nice guys. Garrett did a great job with estimating and made the process very easy and recommended additional measures to explore. I highly recommended Green Collar!"

"Clean Tech Construction was terrific! The team arrived slightly before the scheduled time, removed the old, poorer quality insulation, installed new insulation, including areas that a previous company had not been able to reach, and cleaned up everything before they left for the day. When I initially contacted them about the work, they answered my phone calls within 15 minutes and continued to respond to any calls/questions quickly and politely. I would hire them again in a heartbeat."

"EZ insul did a great job removing old fiberglass under an addition of our home. Due to rodents we needed this removed and replaced swiftly. Jake communicated quickly and effectively. This allowed us to continue with our other projects. Additionally the EZ insul team rolled out drop cloths to keep everything clean and were very respectful of my home."

"To be transparent, Robbie is my son-in-law. We recently remodeled our 45 year old kitchen. Robbie and his crew installed all of the cabinets, replaced the ceiling and walls, installed a window and added insulation, and replaced the trim. I wish I could post a photo here to show the final outcome. He is extremely talented and doesn't cut any corners with his work. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a remodel or for spray foam insulation."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Wall anchors are suitable for drywall and plaster walls, which are common in most homes. However, different wall materials may require specialized anchors. For concrete or masonry walls, you'd typically use concrete anchors. When dealing with other wall types, such as brick or tile, specific anchors designed for those materials may be necessary. Always consult with a hardware specialist or check the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure you select the appropriate anchors for your specific wall type.

How you hang the drywall can affect the finishing process. It's often easier to finish horizontal drywall panels, as the seams run across the wall rather than up and down. Standard drywall panels are 48 inches wide, so the seam is easy to reach without bending down or stretching your arms.

Yes, you can speed up the time it takes for plaster to dry, but it's important to do so carefully to avoid issues like cracking or crumbling. Proper ventilation is key; open a window or use a fan to circulate air in the room. Heat can also accelerate drying, but be cautious, as too much heat can cause the plaster to dry too quickly and crack. Check the plaster's packaging for the recommended drying temperature and set the room's thermostat accordingly. While managing humidity is important, avoid using a dehumidifier, which can remove moisture too aggressively and result in crumbly plaster.

In many cases, installing new drywall will boost your home value. Replacing old, damaged, cracked, or wavy drywall is a great way to improve the look and feel of your home, as new drywall installed by a professional shouldn’t have any imperfections. Additionally, removing old drywall means you’ll have open walls, so you can install new insulation and address exposed issues with plumbing and electrical systems running behind the walls. All of these fixes will also add to your home’s value.

If you only have tiny holes in your drywall (for example, dents or nail marks), you probably won’t need a patch kit. Instead, you can plug the hole with a small amount of spackle. Once the spackle dries, you can sand the area and paint over it—just like you would in the steps outlined above.
