"We had a great experience with this insulation company. The crew members were very kind, professional, and hardworking throughout the project. They took the time to answer all of my questions while they were on site and made the whole process feel easy and stress-free. I was very pleased with the work they did and noticed a real difference in the way my house feels afterward. I would definitely recommend them to anyone considering insulation work for their home."

"Clean Tech Construction was terrific! The team arrived slightly before the scheduled time, removed the old, poorer quality insulation, installed new insulation, including areas that a previous company had not been able to reach, and cleaned up everything before they left for the day. When I initially contacted them about the work, they answered my phone calls within 15 minutes and continued to respond to any calls/questions quickly and politely. I would hire them again in a heartbeat."

"EZ insul did a great job removing old fiberglass under an addition of our home. Due to rodents we needed this removed and replaced swiftly. Jake communicated quickly and effectively. This allowed us to continue with our other projects. Additionally the EZ insul team rolled out drop cloths to keep everything clean and were very respectful of my home."

"To be transparent, Robbie is my son-in-law. We recently remodeled our 45 year old kitchen. Robbie and his crew installed all of the cabinets, replaced the ceiling and walls, installed a window and added insulation, and replaced the trim. I wish I could post a photo here to show the final outcome. He is extremely talented and doesn't cut any corners with his work. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a remodel or for spray foam insulation."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Through expert matching of texture and paint for an invisible repair.

Whether you can reuse a drywall anchor depends on its type, material, and how it is removed. Plastic anchors, such as expansion or self-drilling types, are generally considered single-use because they are designed to expand and are likely to break or become deformed upon removal. Metal anchors, like toggle bolts, are more durable and can often be reused if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle mechanism can fall inside the wall when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged or must be cut for removal, it cannot be reused regardless of its material.

This depends on how much plaster is applied and in how many layers, but a decent estimate is around 150 square feet. If you are applying only two coats on a small wall, there is a chance you may only need one or two gallons for the entire project. If you are plastering a large living room wall with high ceilings, using one of the more involved techniques–like Scagliola–that requires several coats, expect the project materials costs to add up quickly.

Although they have similar applications, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Their primary differences lie in their composition, consistency, and ideal use cases.

Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it thicker than joint compound. It dries quickly and is easy to sand, which makes it ideal for small wall repair projects like filling nail holes or patching minor damage.

Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum. It is primarily used for large-scale projects, such as taping and finishing the seams on newly installed drywall. It tends to shrink more than spackle and can be more difficult to spread.

While both products can be used to fill small depressions and cracks, spackle cannot replace joint compound for taping and mudding new drywall. Conversely, you can often use joint compound for small patching jobs typically done with spackle.

In some minor cases, you can DIY drywall repair with minimal time and money spent. This method is best when you have a hole made by a singular problem, such as accidental furniture moving, and not a continuous problem, like a rodent infestation.

Knowing what product to use is crucial. For example, small holes only need spackle, whereas large holes might need a new piece of drywall. You can flex your DIY abilities on this project, but if you’d like a second opinion or have a more significant problem, it’s best to call in a drywall repair pro.
