"S & S Electric did a fantastic job. They were friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and their price was better than all competitors'. They cleaned up after themselves, they did some extra work without trying to nickel and dime me. I am very happy with the work they performed and will gladly use them again."

"He was always on time and where came when he said he would. He worked independently once he had direction and cleaned up after himself. He was expensive, but it was what I expected for a licensed electrician."

"Steve was very professional. He came out for a free estimate and was competitively priced. His team was neat and professional and they finished the job in a timely manner. The job was better than expected. We would use DES systems again in the future for our electrical needs. He was educated about our needs for the Tesla system and how best to install our supercharger. They were able to come up with solutions for our other electrical issues. We would highly recommend Steve and DES systems. Thank you."

Customers say: Quality work

"They contacted me within an hour of my request and explained the procedure for dealing with the electrical that had been pulled down from the house by a tree during the 3/2 storm. Very easy to work with and they were there every step of the way. Came out the next morning took care of the work needed, charged a very fair price and he then went to town hall to contact wiring inspector who came out 30 minutes later. Everything went smoothly thanks to Eric's overseeing the entire process. Wouldn't hesitate to hire again. Very happy to have found Sylvia Electric!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Norton, be cautious of electrical contractors who provide unclear or incomplete quotes, push to begin work before securing necessary permits, or request unusually large deposits. Watch for professionals without a verifiable local address or those who can’t supply recent Norton references. Avoid anyone unfamiliar with local code updates or who insists on cash-only payments, as these can signal unlicensed or unsafe practices.

Helpful?

In Norton, electrical upgrades can impact interconnected systems like HVAC, sump pumps, and home security. For example, panel upgrades may require coordination with heating or air conditioning units, especially in homes with older infrastructure. Adding circuits in finished basements could affect internet or cable lines. Always ask your electrical contractor how planned work might interact with plumbing, smart home devices, or existing surge protection systems.

Helpful?

In Norton, persistent breaker trips during heavy rain, flickering lights in older homes, or outlets that feel warm to the touch can signal underlying electrical problems. Watch for corrosion or moisture near your panel, especially after wet springs, as this is common in local basements. If you notice buzzing sounds, intermittent power loss, or outdated wiring, contact a licensed electrical contractor promptly to prevent more extensive repairs.

Helpful?

When planning electrical projects in Norton, consider the town’s frequent spring rains and humid summers, which can impact wiring in basements and garages—opt for moisture-resistant materials. If your property is near Norton Reservoir or in an older neighborhood, check for historic preservation guidelines. Coordinate with local utilities for service upgrades, and take advantage of Norton’s solar potential by discussing renewable energy options with your electrical contractor.

Helpful?

After electrical work in Norton, schedule a final inspection with the local building department and keep all permits and inspection reports for your records. Test GFCI and AFCI outlets monthly, especially in damp areas like basements. Update your home insurance policy to reflect electrical improvements. If you installed energy-efficient upgrades, submit paperwork for Massachusetts rebates and consider a home energy audit to further enhance electrical safety and efficiency.
