"Tim and his helper arrived on time and proceeded to efficiently take care of reviving a stagnant garden fountain. Tim clearly knows all about water features and offered suggestions for its continued maintenance. He even went and purchased several rice fish and introduced them to their new home. Both young men were courteous and careful taking time time to prune back overgrown bushes and branches. I highly recommend them for any work on fountain and pond construction and maintenance."

"James at Masonry Concepts was able to fit me in for a chimney inspection during my very tight inspection window for the house I had an offer on. He came out the next day and gave great information and outlined all the repairs necessary. I plan to hire them to do the work too."

"Absolutely the best in the business. I called Ivan after getting a referral from BestHands Landscaping and most Landscaping concrete installers were too busy or had too much work and blew me off. This business came out within one day of calling and did my job and it came out beautiful. They were professional and Ivan really knows his stuff. Unbelievable job and I could not be happier. Highly recommended!"

Fountains questions, answered by experts

Like pools, ponds can be a safety risk, so they may increase your homeowners insurance. Be sure to let your insurance company know if you build a pond on your property—they may have safety requirements in order to keep your premium from increasing.

Even if you empty your pond before the winter, there’s a good chance it will refill naturally. It’s ideal in most cases, then, to leave water in your pond and winterize it instead. This method will prevent ice damage and protect wildlife. Plus, it’ll lessen the steps required to reopen your pond in the spring.

Smaller, pondless water features like bird baths, self-contained fountains, and bubbling rocks are much lower maintenance than their counterparts that include ponds. Pondless features help you avoid high pond maintenance costs and allow you to spend more time enjoying the water feature and less time on upkeep.

In short, yes, a pond can add to your home’s value. However, whether it adds value will depend on the condition and aesthetic of your pond. Having this feature already built into a yard’s home can be appealing to homebuyers who value its aesthetic and would prefer not to build it themselves. But if it is not kept in good condition, it could turn buyers away.

A koi pond should be at least 5 feet deep to keep the fish healthy and ensure they don’t freeze in winter. Koi fish are also known for growing large, so the more room you have, the better. A larger koi pond size will allow the fish to grow bigger than a smaller one will, and the more fish you have, the bigger the pond you’ll need. Learn how to build a pond in your backyard to ensure it remains functional and aesthetically pleasing for a long time.
