"Jim is local.  It went great. Jim Ferrell is a professional of the highest caliber. Responded quickly, took care of my problems, and advised me as to better means of protection than I had. He came back a second time to uninstall software that I purchased that did not provide adequate protections and installed free software that would do the job.  He did the work through remote connection, but is available on site if necessary.
For those people needing help on getting red of malware, viruses , etc. on your computer,  Jim is local, better than all thse remote out of state location providers, is a mature, highly trained professional in this area.
If you go to local computer stores you get very young people that can do a basic job, but are no where near the professional level of Jim.

"I had a lot of additional cost. It ended up at $1500. They only cleaned three, for the big deal. And then, I had a thing that they put in to make sure that the air stays clean. They said I had a humidifier on my furnace and they said that it had to come off. And then, they said you can get a much better one and then they kind of disappeared and they didn't talk about it or really sit down and have a conversation with me. I'm not even sure why they had to take it off or what they did."

"All pre installation arrangements (permit & dumpster) were made.  Although the contract stated that the work would begin no earlier than 5/27 and completed no later than 6/30, they actually finished today, July 2 (they started on June 27).  The dumpster arrived on 6/27 before the crew, Serji and Angelo.  They started removing the aluminum siding right away and ended the day at approx. 8:00 pm.  They were always on task and worked well together.  I am very pleased with the workmanship, they were professional, respectful, and cleaned up after themselves. All of my requests were met.  Serji tied up the cable and telephone wires, which were an eye sore, to  make them look much nicer--I didn't ask for this, but I am grateful that it was done. He also secured my porch rail, it is very sturdy now.  Angelo gave me the measurements to replace the downspouts for some of my gutters.  Dave offered to give me extra panels in the event I need it in the future, which was very nice.      1) They offered a thirty-day guarantee on pricing ... I don't feel comfortable taking fewer than thirty days when I have considered projects to improve my house; in fact, I have taken longer than for previous work I have done.
     2) when I hear "proprietary software", bells ring as in the stock market's "proprietary algorithms" for High Frequency Trading
(basically the transfer of profit to the insiders (the pay-to-play game).
     3) I have seen the one-stop fits-all model before. A local wood floor installer has a company name that implies it is local to Boston. In fact, it sub-contracts to those available in the METRO Boston area (the two installers came from southern NH, about 35 miles away).
     4) One price estimate to power-wash my rear deck was $3,200. I have power-washed my deck several times. I own a power-washer. They priced a new rug for the front stairs that also seemed a little high.

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
