"I hired John callazo do put in a vinyl life proof floor over my hardwood. He came and estimated the job within a day or 2 gave me an excellent price. We set up a day for the job. One of his guys Dan put the floor in a half day. Dan was Excellent he did a fantastic job. John called periodically to see how the job was going. I was extremely happy how it looks and the job done. Because concrete is porous, installing flooring directly onto the surface is not a good idea. Plywood is the best type of subfloor for a mobile home, though if you’re installing flooring in a bathroom, you may want to install a vapor barrier or use a moisture-proof subfloor material like Amdry. OBS is similar, but it can swell when moisture is present. 

Either way, old mobile home subflooring made from particleboard can cause issues with your joints. If you’re replacing your subfloor, it’s best to upgrade to plywood.

Flooring transition strips can be secured to the subfloor using glue, nails, or screws. For a more secure installation, especially in high-traffic areas, using screws or nails is recommended as it reduces the risk of slippage. However, if aesthetic appeal is a priority, glue provides a cleaner, more seamless finish without any visible holes or screw heads.

It’s a good idea to install a rug pad under the carpet for your stairs. To make the pad fit, you’ll need to cut one section for each stair tread that’s about one inch narrower than the stair runner so that it won’t be visible once the carpet is installed on top.
