My previous chimney guy did not suggest double wall piping, I did not even know if was available. The owner ( I love supporting family owned businesses) Dan and his Dad showed up within hours. I was so grateful they showed up that day. They did a complete inspection to assure I was safe. They made recommendations on how to keep the stove safe, they ordered a stainless steel vent to prevent air going up the chimney. They put in a temporary steel pipe to get so I could light fires and ordered custom a duravent double wall piping. Ryan, what a great employee, really put me at ease. He showed a couple days later with custom parts He installed the stainless steel vent, and the double wall pipe. Before he left he started a fire so I felt safe. Both visits they rolled down a paper carpet they brought as to leave no trails, they even wore booties. I highly recommend Advanced Chimney. I am so glad to have found a chimney company I can trust. "NMTI (who we hired as Tru Blue Construction Inc) were superlative. Juan and Ramon were excellent communicators, answering all of our questions in a timely, professional, and endlessly patient fashion. Our project was a big one - our self-managed condo building had a severely leaky roof that needed a full replacement, including redoing a roof deck - and I imagine we were not the easiest clients since we had tons of questions and a lot of "cooks in the kitchen" with different owners and condo trustees weighing in. Juan and Ramon took it all in stride and were incredibly helpful for me in my role as project coordinator. Their team was clean, efficient, effective, respectful, and friendly. They worked both quickly and thoroughly, and were good to always keep me updated as the scope of the work evolved as we found new (but not unexpected or spurious) issues during the demo/rebuild process. Juan was an excellent advocate for us and our project when the city was slow to approve permits/send inspectors. It was a big and intimidating job for us as homeowners, and NMTI/Tru Blue made it feel much less overwhelming. Choosing the right paint color for a major investment like painting the exterior brick on your house can be a daunting task. Some older brick material is extremely hard, making it tough to create a hole. Rather than using a typical wood drill bit, always use a masonry drill bit when drilling into brick. For extremely hard brick, using a power drill with a hammer function may give you better results. The drill bit will heat up as it goes into the extremely hard brick, so you may need to stop after a few minutes and allow the bit to cool before starting to drill again.

Certain towns and homeowner associations (HOAs) ban brick mailboxes because of the risk of obstruction. They are sometimes only permitted in cases where four or more homes share a mailbox.
