Al was very thorough to not only look at the chimney, but also to stay with me until we had fully built a fire and had it burning long enough to run a full test of the appliance. "Definitely a legitimate business, first of all. Brendan Avery does actually run the service, and is extremely thorough and very courteous. He's also experienced and knowledgeable, and gave some important advice on keeping my pellet stove and exhaust system clean and running. (I have a built-in 25' firebrick chimney flue that I use with the stove, and the flue liner was NOT being cleared by the stove company's annual service, though I hadn't realized this.) After a 2-1/2 hour cleaning, the stove runs like new now, and burns the fuel cleanly again! I'm probably just going to maintain the stove myself now as needed, and have Avery's Chimney Service clean my exhaust and flue system annually. He also provides other chimney maintenance services, which I will use."
