Brendan is very good at answering calls/ getting back to customers. He did a great job installing the fan, tiling the fireplace and hearth. Very happy I went with him. I would absolutely contact him again for fireplace maintenance and I would recommend him to others.

Brendan is a chimney-building legend. We came to know this â master of masonryâ as the result of hiring a contractor who thankfully subcontracted his work to Brendan and Avery Masonry. If youâ re like us, youâ ve dealt with countless contractors and various other tradesmen who want to take shortcuts, are untrustworthy and try to overcharge you just because they can. Brendan is the opposite of all those people. Not only did he build our chimney perfectly, oftentimes working into the early evening and on the weekend, but he made suggestions through out the project which were better for us â and made him LESS money. He took the time to ensure the area was neat while building and after his work was complete; he even brought a power washer on the last day to power wash the whole area! Brendan is a rare find in an industry where many are, sadly, unscrupulous and untrustworthy. He even came back after we paid the final payment to do some additional work â just because he felt it would make the chimney work better. When was the last time you had a mason, electrician, plumber, landscaper, etc do something like that? Exactly. We give him our highest recommendation and encourage you to hire him for your masonry needs.

Brendan is the real deal. He has restored my faith in contractors. He says what he does and does what he says. He responded right away to provide an estimate, He climbed up on my roof, took pictures of the problem and showed and explained to me exactly what needed to be done in way I could understand. He clearly loves his job and is very good at it. His pricing is very fair and our chimney looks beautiful. I would highly recommend that you have him check out your project. You will be glad you did. I called Brenden for an estimate on solving a leaky chimney problem. He got back to me right away and looked at it on his way home that night. While he was up on the roof he found problems with the flashing and that there was no flue lining the chimney. He also pointed out that it would probably be a good idea to redo the flashing on another chimney and to seal the brick on all 3 chimneys we have. He gave me a very reasonable price for the problem chimney and then a small additional price for the others. I have had several other people look at the. chimney and none have been as knowledgable and given me the confidence in their ability that he did. He came back the following week with 2 helpers on a dry but cold windy day and they worked hard and skillfully to complete the job in 1 day. Two days later we had heavy rain and no leaks. I would highly recommend them for any chimney work and will definitely be calling him in the future for other masonry jobs I need done.

Definitely a legitimate business, first of all. Brendan Avery does actually run the service, and is extremely thorough and very courteous. He's also experienced and knowledgeable, and gave some important advice on keeping my pellet stove and exhaust system clean and running. (I have a built-in 25' firebrick chimney flue that I use with the stove, and the flue liner was NOT being cleared by the stove company's annual service, though I hadn't realized this.) After a 2-1/2 hour cleaning, the stove runs like new now, and burns the fuel cleanly again! I'm probably just going to maintain the stove myself now as needed, and have Avery's Chimney Service clean my exhaust and flue system annually. He also provides other chimney maintenance services, which I will use.

He was the first one to call and enthusiastic about getting the project. He communicated well on making the appt on time. As the property was in NH. The price was good and his evaluation of the job was thorough, answering all concerns about the chimney. I'd recommend him to anyone for a chimney or masonry project.

I hired Brendan through Angi's list. Right in the first meeting, i got a good idea of his expertise and knowledge. He is an excellent communicator and really cares for the customer's need. He provided me with a really competitive price quote. I hired him to re-build and mortar top course of the chimney, change and repoint bad bricks and add a new damper. He and his team arrived on time and completed the work with neatness and maintained timelines. I'm impressed with his work and plan to hire him for couple of other projects at my place. I've used a lot of different companies in the past and the biggest difference I have found with Brendan is his stellar communication. He will be there when he says he will be and if he can't make it for some reason, he will let you know. Also, he is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to masonry and carpentry, and he can answer questions on electrical and plumbing issues. He may be a mason by title, but Brendan wears many hats and wears them well. He's worked on waterproofing my basement, fixing my chimney, fixing my walkway and sealing the foundation on our cottage in the back. He's also patched up holes along the foundation in our home. I call Brenden before calling anybody and I am not joking. I have so much trust and faith in him, and I know he will steer me in the right direction if it's something he doesn't regularly do. Do yourself a favor and call Branden. You won't regret it. He's the best in the business. If I could I'd give him 10 stars. Just note I don't regularly write reviews. Brendan and his team were great from start to finish. We had our fireplace repaired from a lean and re built from the roofline up. We also had our chimney re lined with a stainless liner and with a new cap installed. Throughout the process and estimate, Brendan explained the full scope of work and walked us through the different options available and what the costs, benefits and downfalls were with each of the paths forward. He did not only try to pitch us the highest cost option, he walked us through all of the available options and we explained thoroughly and with pictures what the work would be. During the work process, he was minimally invasive (I work from home) and always left the sight clean. Throughout the work, he would send us pictures of the progress and proactively gave us regular updates. At the end, we now have a safe fireplace we use multiple times per week and will definitely use and recommend Brendan and team for any future masonry and fireplace work.

Removed old front rock stairs rebuilt with nice staircase .. 100% improve. Looks wonderful. Also added an outside power outlet. Great as i put up Christmas decorations and worked great .. highly recommended for any project
