Lowest estimate and passed the lead test and received the certification.  I would have given then all A's but they broke a water pipe on a Friday afternoon that cost me 350$ to fix and also tore apart clothes dryer duct work.

"I can't say enough positive things about Jon and his team. They were incredibly professional and all-around great people. After meeting with Jon and his employees, I felt comfortable enough to leave them alone in my house while I went back to work. When I came home, the house was still clean & it was as if no one was even there. The work performed in the attic was also unbelievable - the mold was removed completely & the ceiling boards looked brand new. If you are looking for reliable, punctual, and trustworthy people to solve any mold issues, I highly recommend Indoor Environmental!"

"Ken was amazing!!! His customer service is outstanding. I hired Ken as I was in the process of selling my house and the buyer needed a Lead Certification. I called Ken to see if he can come out and do the deleading job as the closing was less than 3 weeks away. He was able to quickly get the job done in time (only 1 day whereas other contractors said 2 days). He was extremely reasonably price (one the very low end of the quotes I got). There was one quote that was lower, but given his customer service he had provided I went with Ken and it was a great decision. He was able to schedule a lead inspector for the same day and we passed the inspection. I actually needed his assistance with another job small job in order for me to sell the house (not lead related). He was able to go back to my home the very next day and get what I needed!! Again, his price was extremely reasonable. He could have charged me a lot given my time crunch but he did not which I am very appreciative of. I would not at all hesitate to hire him again if the situation arose. HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING KEN!!"

"Peter was great to work with and I’d highly recommend him. He was professional, a good communicator, and accommodating as changes came up to our project and helped to find solutions to unblock our lead remediation work alongside our home renovation happening at the same time."

"We were selling our house and the radon test came back high so we needed quick and effective service. The appointment was scheduled a week from our call. The technician arrived on time and helped identify the best location for the system that was both effective and as aesthetic as possible. The install went quickly and he took the time to explain how it worked and what we should look for in terms of monitoring and maintenance. Overall, it was a good experience."

Lead Testing and Removal questions, answered by experts

If lead is detected in a property, steps should include arranging for professional removal or containment, notifying all occupants, and implementing interim safety measures to reduce exposure.

While the EPA provides guidelines for homeowners to perform DIY lead paint removal, it is a risky process and generally not recommended due to serious health risks and strict regulatory requirements. The process requires precise safety precautions, such as wearing a respirator and protective eyeglasses, creating sealed exits, and using a HEPA vacuum for cleanup. To ensure the job is done safely, effectively, and in compliance with regulations, it is highly recommended to hire a professional lead abatement company. Certified professionals have the necessary training, experience, and specialized equipment (like chemical strippers and HEPA vacuums) to handle and dispose of hazardous materials safely.

Some causes of brown well water—like excess tannins or dissolved iron—don’t pose a health risk. In other cases, harmful bacteria might be the culprit. If your well water has suddenly turned brown, it’s a good idea to use a home water test kit to get a better sense of what’s going on with your water. Consider calling a professional for an expert opinion before drinking the water and hoping for the best.

Some of the signs that could mean your water is contaminated, such as cloudiness or bubbliness, could also be non-problems that don’t affect your water’s potability. However, if your water smells or tastes strange, it’s a good idea to stop drinking it and test it immediately. If your well water is contaminated, the best way to discover that is to test it.

How you test for lead in your water depends on the source of your home's water supply. If you have municipal water, your local water system may offer to test the water for free or may connect you to a lab that will perform the testing.

If you have a private well that provides drinking water, you are responsible for testing it for lead. Look for a lab that is accredited by your state's Department of Environmental Protection to perform the test.
