"Paul & his crew were hardworking guys did a great job in removing in excess of 50 trees surrounding our house. We all feel safer now that they are gone. They were there when they said they would be there, did the job & cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend Advanced Landscaping."

"We moved to Bolton to a yard in disrepair and needed help ASAP. I emailed Ronaldo and he got back to me almost immediately and was able to route one of his team over to our home to help. He and the team have been great, If you need a professional, reliable and frankly "nice" landscaping firm, hire them!"

"These guys are amazing! They were here first thing in the morning and worked hard till late in the day. The communication between us and the project manager was excellent and everybody was always on the same page, even in the midst of needed adjustments to the plan. The workers craftsmanship was impeccable! And we are incredibly happy with our new patio, and grateful to all the guys for their hard work."

"I wasn’t satisfied with the clean up. They left leaves in the garden. My husband cleaned up some of the leaves. I called another company and they did a great job for less money. When I emailed the receptionist she seemed very rude and curt. The workers took my broom too, when I asked the receptionist she said they didn’t have it. Needless to say, I won’t call them back."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

If the roots are still alive, the dead tree will usually try to put out new shoots. That doesn’t mean the tree will survive or that the dead parts of a tree will come back to life. If parts of the tree have died and turned gray or rotten, nothing will bring them back to life and they need to be safely removed.

Ideally, you’ll have a good enough relationship with your neighbors that you can kindly mention this task in regular conversation. However, every neighbor (and neighborhood) is different. Your best bet will always be to ask directly and nicely, offering to contribute to the tree trimming efforts if you’d like. However, if you are bothered by the tree and your neighbor is unwilling to cut it, you can involve the help of the homeowners’ association or local authorities, if applicable.

How often and long you should water a tree depends on the species and if it is mature or newly planted. The amount of water is also based on the tree's size. A good rule of thumb is approximately 5 gallons per inch of the trunk's diameter.

Adjusting watering to the recommended suggestions for the tree type and weather conditions is vital. For instance, watering trees during a drought is necessary, and you may need to water more frequently than usual.

The costs vary from $250 to $5,000 per tree, depending on the size, complexity of the trimming, and labor.

Homeowners are usually not responsible for trees that fall on power lines. Power companies usually have utility easements around power lines, which give them the responsibility to maintain any trees within about 15 to 20 feet of the lines.
