"I highly recommend Silva Landscaping. I am so pleased with the work they did in our yard. They removed all the poison ivy, lookalike weeds, and mowed so the yard looked perfect. So happy!"

"Great workmanship on my residential landscape and surely, I can say no one can beat their services. Priorly, I had a discussion with other construction consultants but all of them were in vain. Their pricing structure was economical and every aspect of the construction part was handled smoothly in a flexible manner. Strongly referring their services to everyone."

"I had hired Alex through Angi's list back in May 2022. We had about 24 trees removed from our front yard. He provided me the best price quote. He and team if boys were punctual. They were highly efficient and did a very neat job. They ensured to clean up the place before they left. Highly recommend Alex and his boys. -Rgds, Suraj Narayan"

"From management down to work crews, by far they past my expectations. I had three other company bid for a very difficult job. I have a feng shui. Garden that was around 4,000 sq ft or more of space. Grass365 was not the cheapest, Turf was great quality They had incredible reviews and lots of experience. As the old saying says, you pay for what you get and I was not taking any chances. The job came out fantastic. On the long run, the savings in landscaping/ water/ sprinkler maintenance, this job will pay it self in three years, itâ s all cruising after that! You canâ t go wrong with this outfit!"

"I hired this company for spring cleanup, and when they got here they were able to do so much more They edged all my beds. They mulched everything. They filled my new raised beds with loam. They cleaned my two ponds. They went way over and above what I expected, I would recommend them highly to anyone. They .were professional. They were courteous. They left nothing behind. It was absolutely the best experience I’ve had hiring someone in a long time. I couldn’t be happier. I would highly recommend them to anyone for any projects."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The cost of trees varies massively based on the size of the tree and the species. A small Colorado spruce can cost as little as $30, but a golden rain tree of the same size can cost $90. Large trees can cost $1,500 or more, depending on their species and height.

It’s not always easy to tell when a tree is dying, although signs like dropping branches and brittle bark can sometimes offer clues. It can also be difficult to know whether a tree is dead or dormant, especially if it’s a deciduous tree. You’ll want to wait until a growth season to get a good idea of a tree’s health. When in doubt, contact an arborist for a consultation.

Cutting down a dead tree is always strongly advisable. Aside from being an eyesore, a dead tree can be extremely hazardous, especially when it’s near people or structures. Even if the tree isn’t near your home, it can still harbor pests and diseases that can potentially spread to nearby plants and homes.

Leaving the tree stump and letting it rot is never a good idea, as this leads to insect infestations and other frustrations. Additionally, decomposing trunks are at risk for diseases that spread out to the remaining plants and trees in the yard, thus ruining your whole outdoor aesthetic. It's usually best to remove the stump at the same time you remove the tree.

You should not trim an oak tree in the summer. Oak trees are especially susceptible to disease, and open tree wounds are an invitation for beetles that carry tree-killing fungus. If there’s no risk that the oak tree will do damage to your property or hurt someone, it’s best to save the trimming for fall or winter. If you can, seal the wound with latex to prevent fungus from getting inside.
