"With the latest job John and his team completed for us, I am now able to say that for the better part of two decades, the electrical work needs of four generations of my family have been completed by 4th Generation Electric. As John and I were catching up before the install of our transfer switch and generator hook up, he recalled when we first met almost 20 years ago. From that time forward, he and his teams have completed work for my family that spanned from outlet installation and replacement, wiring our full new build construction home, inclusive of aiding with the installation of the power line from the street (which was 700 feet away from the house), outside patio electrical work for an elaborate tiered landscape, generator hook up requirements, among other things. Just as our electrical needs grew over time, and John and 4th Generation Electric have as well, the same level of attention to detail, focus on customer satisfaction, and not only the desire to strive for perfection but the expectation to do so, has been the standard that he knows not only his customers expect but that he expects for himself and his teams. "My initial experience was good when I had Ryan come and rebuild the interior of the boiler and the associated electronics for a total of around $1500 including parts and lots of labor. Then when I called today to have a simple relay replaced, Richard arrived and these people at Heritage proved that they are hucksters of the first order. Stay away from them at all costs!! They tried to sell me a $80 off-the-shelf switching relay for $500!!! Then when I told Richard I would never pay $500 for a switching relay (which requires about 20 minutes to install) he offered to take $100 off his price if I supplied the part! In other words, he was making me the "wonderful" offer to charge me only $1200/hr for his installation time!!! Called the "sales manager" and he was smug, lecturing, defensive and TOTALLY unhelpful. I would NEVER do business with this company ever again. It's highway robbery!! The tech arrived and worked for approximately 90 minutes before ever quoting me the price. It was only AFTER he had uninstalled my existing relay that he quoted me the price of around $500 for a standard Honeywell relay that I just bought from Lowes for $80. The "Service Manager" went on-and-on on the phone about how it was like how a restaurant charges a lot more than the food cost for its dishes. Unfortunately, this "Service Manager" has NO IDEA what he is talking about. In a restaurant, a professional chef prepares the food with lots of other ingredients, it is then served in a pleasing environment, and there is service from waiters, busboys, maitre d, and sometimes the owner and chef. NONE of these things happen here. A tech spends 20 minutes installing a standard, off-the-shelf part to which the tech adds NO VALUE WHATSOEVER, and for that "service" these hucksters add $400 to the price of an $80 part!!! For 20 minutes of work that comes to $1200/hr. "Highway robbery" would be a kind way of phrasing it. Based on the fact that they DO NOT tell you up front how much it will cost, but only after 90 minutes of wasted time during which the tech accomplished nothing other than uninstalling my existing relay which I told him to put back, I would say "bait-and-switch" and virtual fraud would be more descriptive terms for the services that this company provides. Stay away from Heritage if you don't want to be massively ripped off and have your time wasted!"

"I’d love to leave a 0 star review if I could. The level of disorganization and miscommunication with this company has been staggering. Their customer service is garbage. Don’t waste your time, money, or energy on this company. False promises and sub-par work across the board. We will gladly take our business elsewhere in the future. We had an initial consultation with someone named Darren for a heat pump/furnace replacement. We also lumped in a sub-panel install & dryer replacement. Darren assured us that everything would go smoothly, all the work would get done over the next week. The HVAC & electrical teams showed up several days earlier than expected, which sounds great in theory, but required us to take an unexpected day off work. The wiring they ran to the thermostat was installed hap-hazardly and now just dangles off the HVAC plumbing. The electrical team installed the sub-panel, but installed it too close to our irrigation control box. Now we can’t open the door to the irrigation control box. The electrical team also installed an outlet for the new dryer in a location we wanted, but left the rest for a plumber to finish. When the plumber showed up a week later, he said the dryer could not be installed in that location. He then tried to charge us for additional work that we already had paid for in our initial contract with Darren. (He did actually charge us to cap the gas line to the old dryer). Multiple teams also told us they would haul away our old dryer. That never happened. On top of everything else, we were told (multiple times by Darren and the HVAC team) that, as a part of our 3 year maintenance plan, they would come back quarterly to install a new filter on the furnace. When we called about that today, we were told “that’s not a service we’ve ever offered.” The customer service is absolute garbage. We already feel cheated out of the money the plumber charged us. You’d think after all this, the least they could do is toss in a few filters. We’ll never use this company again. I’d caution anyone else to get EVERYTHING written out in detail before you do business with this company. Better yet, just go to someone else."
