"We had our chimney capped. The guys from 5-Star showed up on time, their quote was competitive (and very fair), and they were ready to do the work the same day, which they did. They did a couple of extras for us and cleaned everything up before they left. Damon sat down with us to show us pictures of what we needed done and then pictures of what it looks like now. No, you can’t inspect the roof yourself if you want to get your roof certified for your mortgage lender or insurance underwriter. You’ll need to get it inspected by a licensed professional. If you happen to be a licensed inspector, this means that commercial rules apply, and you’d need to get your Remote Pilot Certificate, just as you would if using the drone for another business purpose. 

However, if you want to use a drone to simply check out the roof, it’s considered recreational use. You won’t need your Remote Pilot Certificate, but you’ll still need to register your drone with the FAA and follow FAA and any state guidelines during the flight.

It’s possible that installing solar panels can lead to mold on the roof. The panels themselves are not the issue. Problems caused by improper installation—such as roof leaks and mounts that aren’t sealed properly—can cause mold. Another potential cause of mold is debris accumulation under panels, which can trap moisture. If you live somewhere with extreme snow, rain, or hail, your home could be more prone to mold.
