"Chet and his crew were prompt, personable and professional. Easy to work with and they did a fantastic job. The price was fair and he communicated often and clearly throughout the process of visiting the house to give us a price, through scheduling and while he was here painting. His crew was enthusiastic and really seemed to enjoy their jobs. Their skill shows through their work, and my living room looks amazing now. I would never consider another painting company as I go through painting the rest of my house."

Small jobs welcome

"We were completely happy with Al and his worker Dave. They did a wonderful job in painting our kitchen ceiling which we had done by another painting Co. and it was a mess. They were totally professional and friendly. Not one drop of paint splashed anywhere, cleaned up everything beautifully. Would hire them again without any hesitation. Great guys to work with."

"Terrific to work with. Always prompt, and thorough with the walk through and estimate. The power wash and exterior house painting was quick and meticulousâ my neighbors made a point to compliment how nice the detail work was. Very satisfied with the price, the work, and the final look. "Claudio and his team were professional, polite and worked quickly. They did great work painting ceilings and walls for every room in our newly purchased home (that was in desperate need of TLC). They cleaned up at the end of the project and made sure we were happy with their work before leaving. They were even thoughtful enough to remove their shoes before entering the home! I highly recommend Claudio and his team!"

Painting questions, answered by experts

Limewash and whitewash are two techniques used to give brick a light, matte finish, but they differ in composition, application, and permanence. The best choice depends on your aesthetic goals and the specific surface.

Composition

  • Limewash: A natural and environmentally friendly option made from limestone, water, and sometimes pigments. It is breathable and soaks into porous surfaces like brick.

  • Whitewash: Traditionally made from lime, water, chalk, and binders, but a similar look can be achieved with watered-down white paint. It is paint-based and sits on top of the surface.

Appearance and Finish

  • Limewash: Provides a natural, textured appearance that allows the brick's character to show through. It offers a more traditional finish.

  • Whitewash: Creates a softer, more opaque finish, often used for a rustic or shabby-chic style.

Application and Permanence

  • Limewash: Is semi-permanent and can be removed, making it a good choice if you might want to change the look in the future. It requires more skill to apply and cannot be used on previously painted brick.

  • Whitewash: Is a more permanent solution. It is more forgiving to apply and can be used on painted brick. However, because it sits on the surface, it can trap moisture.

Ultimately, if you want a breathable, natural, and reversible finish for unpainted brick, limewash is a great option. If you need a more permanent, opaque coating that can be applied over painted surfaces, whitewash is the better choice. Whitewashing may also be more economical, costing approximately $1.40 to $4.20 per square foot.

Whitewashing isn’t permanent, but it can last for a long, long time. When you apply it correctly or have a seasoned pro whitewash your brick, whitewashing can last for 20 to 30 years or longer. Whitewash is very durable and typically requires little maintenance, making it a great project for most DIYers.

Paint your fence, install customized fence slats, or attach a bamboo screen for a more appealing yard aesthetic. Paint can give your yard a unique and fun look, and adding fence slats gives you a classic fence appearance. Bamboo screens are probably the most unique option that can add a fun vibe to your space.

Yes, you can paint a chain-link fence, but you don’t want to use spray paint. With the spray method, you’ll be losing a majority of your product to the air, given the size of the gaps in chain-link fences. Instead, use a paintbrush for your fence posts and a paint roller for the wire.

Overall costs depend on the fence height and length, prep work required, and labor if hiring professionals, ranging between $1 and $4 per square foot.
