"Our existing bathroom was a half bathroom with sink vanity, toilet, washer and dryer. We needed to eliminate laundry equipment and add shower and closet in the space that was designated for a washer and dryer, and add outside venting. We also wanted to tile the whole bathroom up to the ceiling. The job was performed excellent and we are very happy with the choices we made. Bill Perry and his crew were working in our house before renovating basement and building rooms there, so we knew that they were the best company for us. "Master Bathroom Remodel. Last fall we decided to remodel our master bathroom. The original design was implemented in the early 90’s and included a huge jacuzzi tub, but with todays higher cost of living and efforts to conserve our natural resources, it was no longer practical. Also, the small, rectangular bathroom had a jacuzzi tub which was a space robber that sacrificed areas for actual bathroom necessities such as storage and counter space. A full remodel was totally warranted! As a designer, I knew that the floor plan would remain the same for the most part because the plumbing is already there and there are a few electric sockets to move around as well. The shower is small, and kept in place. It will be retiled (with a built-in niche to hold shampoo and soap bottles) with a new door and new shower fixtures. The whole bathroom will be torn out to the studs, and replaced with new cabinets and finishes. I went to a kitchen designer with my ideas to make a conceptual layout and elevations so that I would get measurements of what I wanted as an end product. I had all the materials ordered and ready to go. I now needed someone to implement the job. I get several bids on the project and we settled on Jeff Veglia. He provided us with a competitive price and was very helpful during his first onsite consultation. We found him to be down to earth, friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and receptive to our ideas and needs, so we felt very comfortable choosing him to do the work. From deconstruction to finish, the whole project ran smoothly and on time. The price he quoted us was the price he performed the work for. We are very pleased with the quality of the work. His crew and sub-contractors were friendly, courteous, professional, and very respectful of us and our home; especially during these trying times with Covid issues. All the rough work and finishes were completed with the utmost professionalism, talent and an eye for detail. We felt comfortable in our home with his entire crew. We thoroughly recommend Jeff Veglia and his crew for any project you can dream up! They more than made every effort to have our project turn out as we specified. "Planning: We met with three contractors and reviewed small, medium and larger options for our existing space. Ryan from Norman Builders won us over with his confidence, organization and no problem attitude. Of course we had concerns and questions, but it was clear he had worked in colonial houses before. What really won us over was his excitement to do something different with our space. From day one, you could tell every detail of this job mattered as this was a new way to design a traditional space. His timelines, pricing and execution plan was clearly laid out. As a GC, he organized everyone from; designer, permits, dumpsters, demo, electric, plumbing, painters, floors, ceilings, etc. He would do it all. The Job: Completely gut our existing kitchen and formal dining room. Remove a wall and install a steal support beam. He'd then move the kitchen to the old dining space and make the old kitchen a common area with built in desk, bench and bar area. The dining room would then be moved to our four season bonus room. Floors, wall, ceilings all came down. All new plumbing and lighting throughout the first floor. Execution: I mean, its funny to say, but we miss these guys. They practically lived with us for the summer. Couldn’t have been better with our entire family (kids and dog included) Everyone was so respectful of world climate (summer of Corona) and space. Of course you need patience with the process. Timelines were clear and the job finished slightly ahead of schedule. In the End: I mean, wow. When we looked at the blueprint on day one, we legit thought they shared the wrong plans. We couldn’t imagine everything we wanted would fit. They nailed it. It’s a dream space for our family and we couldn’t be happier. We couldn’t recommend Ryan Norman Builders any higher. We can’t wait to have them back to work on the upstairs next."
