"Our existing bathroom was a half bathroom with sink vanity, toilet, washer and dryer. We needed to eliminate laundry equipment and add shower and closet in the space that was designated for a washer and dryer, and add outside venting. We also wanted to tile the whole bathroom up to the ceiling. The job was performed excellent and we are very happy with the choices we made. Bill Perry and his crew were working in our house before renovating basement and building rooms there, so we knew that they were the best company for us. "Master Bathroom Remodel. Last fall we decided to remodel our master bathroom. The original design was implemented in the early 90’s and included a huge jacuzzi tub, but with todays higher cost of living and efforts to conserve our natural resources, it was no longer practical. Also, the small, rectangular bathroom had a jacuzzi tub which was a space robber that sacrificed areas for actual bathroom necessities such as storage and counter space. A full remodel was totally warranted! As a designer, I knew that the floor plan would remain the same for the most part because the plumbing is already there and there are a few electric sockets to move around as well. The shower is small, and kept in place. It will be retiled (with a built-in niche to hold shampoo and soap bottles) with a new door and new shower fixtures. The whole bathroom will be torn out to the studs, and replaced with new cabinets and finishes. I went to a kitchen designer with my ideas to make a conceptual layout and elevations so that I would get measurements of what I wanted as an end product. I had all the materials ordered and ready to go. I now needed someone to implement the job. I get several bids on the project and we settled on Jeff Veglia. He provided us with a competitive price and was very helpful during his first onsite consultation. We found him to be down to earth, friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and receptive to our ideas and needs, so we felt very comfortable choosing him to do the work. From deconstruction to finish, the whole project ran smoothly and on time. The price he quoted us was the price he performed the work for. We are very pleased with the quality of the work. His crew and sub-contractors were friendly, courteous, professional, and very respectful of us and our home; especially during these trying times with Covid issues. All the rough work and finishes were completed with the utmost professionalism, talent and an eye for detail. We felt comfortable in our home with his entire crew. We thoroughly recommend Jeff Veglia and his crew for any project you can dream up! They more than made every effort to have our project turn out as we specified. "There is a lot of anxiety in trying to pick the right contractor for your home improvement project. If you haven’t worked with someone before, or you don’t have a first-hand referral from someone you trust, it might feel like you are throwing a dart at a board then hoping you made the right choice. We took a huge leap of faith when we decided to renovate our 1945 Cape Bungalow, including remodeling two existing full bathrooms, adding a new Master bedroom with a full bathroom, adding a family/sunroom, and updating the full exterior of the home (roofing, siding, decking, garage, and driveway). If the most important selection factors for your project are cost and quality, and working with an honest, approachable, and level-headed GC, then Ryan Norman is absolutely the right choice. We had very reasonable expectations with our project, and this mindset is important for any home renovation; there would be unexpected costs and maybe a few surprises, the day to day activities might slip behind or occur ahead of schedule, and some days things might happen exactly as planned while other times they might not. Things will get messy, construction is messy. If you are unable to accept these as truth, then maybe Ryan Norman Builders is not the right choice for you, actually, maybe home renovation is not right for you…. may be better to List it not Love it. Our overall project started on time and ended on time and throughout the process it was easy to collaborate with Ryan. With every challenge he had a satisfying solution. He was always transparent regarding cost and any budget risks. He works with a predominantly subcontracted model, and this does come with some aches and pains. I did find it especially useful to plan time in the morning between 7-8am to check-in and get aligned for the day. In spite of the subcontract model, Ryan personally sees through every detail right down to the final punch list item. He wanted to make sure that upon completion of the project we were 100% happy, and was willing and able to re-work a few aspects that didn’t quite meet his or our standard. We are thrilled with the outcome of our project, and grateful to Ryan and his team for making our home design a reality."
