There were no high-pressure sales tactics, and no surprise add-ons to the quote. And the work they performed is top notch! "In May of 2020 this company installed a pool deck with stairs that attach to our home. The cost of the deck was an out $15,000. I have invoices to support the amount. After completion of the deck, there was an overflow cap that was partially installed, they were supposed to come finish it after the summer season. That never happened. The following March, 2021, I reached out to the company because I noticed flaking, spalling and ask about the cover. I was told that there was an issue with the sealant used, happened to other clients, needed to find out how to remedy. After asking about the fix throughout that summer, it now became a story that he noticed the concrete flashing as it was being poured. He stated that he contacted ******************************* and they said it should be fine no real issues. I reached out again in October 2021 and he now said that he would have to rip out the whole thing the following spring. And that ****************************** was going to cover the cost of the concrete. Spring of 2022, I was horrified to see the flaking, s falling, substantially worse and Cracks throughout the deck. Was put off again, needed to talk to concrete company. I subsequently reached out to that concrete company to confirm that they were on board, and I got a very angry message that I messed everything up and they would have to work hard to mend that relationship. To this day nothing has been fixed. It has been an emotionally and mentally exhausting situation. Do not use this company!"

Driveway installation is challenging. While chip seal might sound easier to apply than asphalt, the process still involves heavy machinery and professional skills. Unless you come from a construction background, we recommend hiring an asphalt company to chip seal your new driveway. If you are paving the driveway entirely with chip seal, expect to pay $5 to $10 per square foot.

To maintain their strength, asphalt driveways and parking lots need to be sealcoated once every two to five years. You may also need to reapply paint striping every few years as it fades to ensure drivers can safely navigate the parking lot.

What causes driveways to crack can vary by driveway material. Sealcoating with the right formula creates a protective "shell" over a driveway. Resealing a driveway on schedule helps to preserve its lifespan substantially by keeping it protected against damage from UV rays, motor oil, chemicals, hail, rain, snow, and more. If you don't reseal your driveway, this will lead to brittleness, cracking, and potholes that can eventually cause your driveway to fall apart.

You should contact your driveway installer before winterizing a newly installed driveway. Winterizing it before the asphalt or concrete has fully cured can damage the driveway. But in many cases, you don't need to winterize a newly installed driveway anyway since it's likely freshly sealed and won't have much damage yet. 

It depends on the type of sealer. Some sealers can dry in as little as 4 hours, but many can take up to 48 hours to fully cure. To play it safe, don’t drive on your driveway for two days after sealing.
