PLEASE SEE LESSONS LEARNED IN CAPS THROUGHOUT. In fairness, they had just lost an employee and their office was harried, but mine was definitely not a good experience. I paid $375 for the title V inspection. 2 guys came, poked the ground for 5 minutes, didn't find a riser and cap, & left saying they could not do the inspection and would have to excavate the site. LESSON ONE: require them to pull the prior Title V before coming out, which would have given them the depth of the system ahead of time. Capewide would not give me a quote to excavate, only said the excavation equipment cost $170/hr to rent. They then excavated, said the system failed because the distribution box had to be upgraded to a H20, filled in the hole and left. Next Capewide sent me a bill for an additional $2285 for the first excavation (with no breakout) and a quote of an additional $2600 to upgrade the DBox. They refused to credit me for the $375 they charged me for the 10 minutes their first inspectors poked around. LESSON TWO: check the last Title V before you start. If you have a walk-out basement, the system is going to be deep. If the previous owner didn't install risers, you are going to have to excavate. Be sure to only hire a Septic inspection co. that has their own excavation equipment. I said I wanted to check the 6 year old Title V inspection to see why the previous inspector passed it before I paid the additional $2600. This was not a criticism of Capewide rather the 2012 inspector. They were not enthusiastic about my going to the County. LESSON THREE: The town inspector said the requirement to upgrade to an H20 was only for new builds, mine was grandfathered and did not need to be replaced. I had Capewide on the phone to ask them some questions and the town inspector pulled my cell out of my hand saying they wanted to explain to Capewide directly. Capewide told the county inspector they had 'learned something', They next called back and said the sides of the box were collapsed. After I left the County office, the Capewide inspector called me and tore me 'a new one' for putting him in the embarassing position of having to speak to the inspector. I tried to explain that the inspector had grabbed the phone but he wouldn't have it. I decided to get another quote before proceeding, especially since they would not break out the $2600 additional expense and called an excavation co. that did septic inspections (and owned the excavation Equipment). The 2nd company quote me $1650 or 37% less. They did the work. I monitored and photographed it. There was slight degradation in one of the walls of the Dbox but it was not collapsed. If I had gone to them in the first place my cost would have been $3300 vs. $5260 from Capewide. I have kept my recordings of the calls with Capewide. Again, not a good experience.

A different plumber quoted $3k and up for the job and 4 days for completion. Capewide did it in under 4 hours for about $500. Great quality work for extremely reasonable pricing.

Showed up on time, did a complete job, and left the yard in great condition and you couldn't tell they had been here. The price quoted was exactly what I was charged. I would hire them again to pump out my septic tank.

We couldn't locate our plans for our plot. They got them, found the septic in minutes. Got it pumped, great service! I asked questions and he was super pleasant and very knowledgeable . He even opted not to drive his truck on the driveway, noticing it already has some dips in it. He didn't want to do any further damage. Glad he noticed!!

Very pleased with this company and the work completed. I called on a Sunday assuming I would leave a message for a return call on Monday. The owner Rich Capen happened to be in the office and picked up the phone. I was in a fix to get the necessary septic repair done at a vacation rental property after the property was no longer renter-occupied and before the sale closing date. Several other contractors (refered by my seller's agent) had given very high quotes, well above $1000 for the job. Not only did Rich give me a reasonable price, the communication by his field manager Neil Kelly was excellent throughout the whole transaction. I actually got a phone call from him when the work was going to be delayed for a day which was important since I live 3000 miles away. I highly recommend this company for their professionalism and service.

We had a problem with our leach-field.  We called for advice and a quote.  they submitted a quote and explained the details, we agreed and they submitted a contract which we signed and gave a deposit of $3000.  This was  followed by an engineered layout/drawing of our property with the new leach-field shown with all connections.  There was a 2-month scheduling lead time before our system could be installed.  Capewide was busy in the fall.  The system was installed in 11/13.  We waited until April of 2014 to loam and seed the work area, which worked out well.  Everything was done per Barnstable codes, with town inspectors at the site when required.  The system was installed within 3 days.  A year later and, of course, it still works fine.
The workers were all friendly, polite, and hard working.  No complaints at all.  They did a good job.  I can highly recommend them.  The job did not exceed the original quote!!!!

Technician arrived earlier than the timeframe given when appointment was booked. This would be OK, except he did not call us to let us know he was coming as we had requested and as was promised. I would have missed him but hubby noticed he was here, so I was able to ask him questions.
Technician was very polite, answered questions, and tidied yard after he was done.
In initial phone call, a choice was offered between having our payment receipt mailed or e-mailed to us. We chose regular mail. Several days later, today, I called Capewide to ask whether our receipt was in the mail. The person who answered the phone was rude and unprofessional, talked over me, and snapped at me. Because of her, Capewide gets a C in responsiveness and a D in professionalism, and a B rather than an A overall.

Called on a Monday and was offered next day service or any day of my choosing! Chose Wednesday. Tim was professional, polite, answered all of my questions. Performed work in timely, neat fashion. Scheduled routine maintainance for future service.
Also received a discount for donating a toy for "Stuff a Bus" holiday promotion that Capewide was participating in.

We signed a contract with the company to install a new septic system for 7,200$. The contract states that any significant variation would be discussed and a new written agreement would be drawn up. The people working for the company were all very pleasant and the owner (also very pleasant) was at our home several times. The work was started and completed on time. Unfortunately, when the job was 3/4 of the way done we were told that due to the type of soil they were dealing with the cost would be closer to 11,000$. After some heated discussions the price came down a bit but still ended up being over 40% higher than estimated with little communication about what was happening and what the resulting cost would be. Of course we understood that an estimate is just that an estimate, however when the cost overrun is large there should have been some discussion on day 1 when the excavation began. The septic was finished, loamed and reseeded - but beware the loam is not screened and ours contained large shards of glass. We have been adding additional topsoil and seed to fix the lawn. Sadly no bare feet for the kids until we're sure all the glass is gone. Overall, they did the job we hired them for but the communication about the cost could have been a lot better and left us feeling better about spending the extra money.

1. The quote was different from the price by $1000. They did not mention the rebate at the time of installation. We found out about the rebate ourselves.

2. On this job, they pulled out a tree which was on top of the gas line saving money which we never saw. They seeded twice and sprayed on seed and all three times, the grass never came in. At best we got massive weeds and 20 % grass. We watered correctly. The steps were removed. After the failure of the floor project, they refused to complete the front steps.

3. The hardwood floors were refinished so badly that the contractor returned our check. We removed carefully all the wall to wall carpeting, tack strips, and all the wall baseboards so carefully. On the estimate they were to fill all nail holes from tack strips. None of that was done. They applied the polyurethane over wet stain. The stain never dried which showed through. Many long lap marks showed as well. The job was so bad our check was refunded and they refused to complete the outside work.

Ten years prior we used them on another house and were satisfied then with the results. That is why we used them on the current house. We were so dissatisfied with the work done that we would cancel Angie's list if they were recommended. WE HIGHLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE USING CAPEWIDE AS A GENERAL CONTRACTOR.

Cleaned-out three tank cesspool system at a cost of approximately $600 which was a reasonable price. They also arranged for a Title 5 inspection of the septic system; however, the septic system failed the inspection. They subsequently provided a proposal for the installation of a new septic system. However, the proposal was 25% higher than the average of other proposals and 60% higher than the least costly proposal. The company is very professional, responsive and does quality work. My 'B' rating is based on the their high cost proposal to install a new septic system.

I was scheduled between 8am - noon . At 7:50 am , I received a call from Tim, the driver, that he would arrive in about 10 minutes. He arrived right on time and carefully measured the yard to directly locate the cap of the tank.as recorded in town records. He very carefully , removed the sod and dirt over the cover, placing both on a tarp as to not destroy my lawn. After pumping, he replaced the sod as if nothing was ever altered. He gave me helpful information on maintaining my septic, going forward.
Tim was the ultimate professional, and i was definitely use these services again.
