"Everything went great, there were a couple changes that had to be made as the job progressed, we found out the old toilet had been leaking pretty badly, and there was a bunch of rotting floor boards.  Other than that they completed the job within our time frame, cleaned the house up at the end of each day very well, and really treated our home like it was theirs.  Everything was sealed up with plastic barriers so we wouldn't get dust throughout the house, I was very pleased about that.  We plan to have them back in the next year or two for the kitchen.

"My experience with Home Improvement Specialists has been excellent. My home needed a wide variety of repairs and upgrades, things that had been neglected in recent years due to my husband's medical issues which prevented him from completing projects he had started when he lost his vision. Unfortunately my husband passed away and I had to hire someone to finish the work he started, and to make some pretty major upgrades to my home. The first person I hired didn’t get very far before needing surgery himself, leaving him incapacitated and unable to do the work. I reached out to Home Improvement Specialists after seeing their excellent rating on Angie’s List and after meeting with, and talking to Jody and Sean extensively about my needs, I immediately had peace of mind in their ability to complete the work and in the skill level of their employees. Every employee that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting has been kind and professional, and have completed their assigned tasks to perfection. Jody and Sean have gone above and beyond for not only me, but also for my mom who recently fell off of her front steps cracking her head open on the side of her house. When I asked for an estimate to install a railing at Mom’s home, after hearing what had happened, Jody not only provided me with the estimate in a day, she also had the railing installed within two days of the accident. Every project to date has been provided at a fair cost by highly skilled employees in a professional and compassionate manner. I will definitely use this company for all of my future projects and would highly recommend them to anyone needing home repairs or home improvements. Michelle Schweitzer Springfield, MA"

"Vista started this job 9/17. From the beginning we were told by the salesman Eric and project manager Keith that the job would be finished to our satisfaction, all our concerns would be addressed. The roofing went well, we are pleased. The siding was a bigger job than they seemed prepared for. They removed wood siding and replaced rotten plywood. The siding looked fine except for an area in the front of our home which is vertically uneven. Holding a straight edge to the siding we have a one inch gap in the vertical level which was not properly prepared. Some our window frames are horrible. One of them has nails driven right in the center of the frame, others have gapping joints and one is wavy. They replaced our perfectly fine topped gutter with a 'top of the line' gutter which isn't topped so is now full of leaves. We live in the woods what were they thinking? At the signing of this contract our salesman Eric said he would do some porch screen framing and stain our new front door. He wanted payment of $600 stating this was his side job. After many, many phone calls, most being ignored, we have gotten no where. Brian Rudd finally came out and told us these problems would be corrected. Last we heard from him was 11/17. He emailed that the siding crew would be out that week to correct window trim. We never heard from or saw any of them again. They never installed the stove vent, stained the front door or corrected our siding issues. I've waited for spring thinking I would hear from them. Too bad, things started out well. Not a good company."

"Elliot called me in reply to my online inquiry. He (patiently and professionally) answered my many coverage and price questions, then gave me time to 'digest' it all and called me back (as promised) at 4PM...to answer more questions. Elliot also worked with me to secure the maximum amount of discount savings. Time will tell if the warranty coverage/work is what it's cracked up to be, but Elliot Chahino is an excellent salesperson. Reach out to him directly if you want the same level of service attention. "I cannot speak highly enough of Tom and Brad Green of Colonial Restorations. We have lived in our antique house for 16 years now, and like most old homes, some of its previous repairs were good, some not so good. Tom Green worked on this house for its previous owners, and his work was, by far, the best in the house. So, we continued to use Colonial - Tom, then Tom and Brad - as we learned the ropes about caring for an old house - our first house, old or new. Over the years, they have replaced sills and posts and beams, and rebuilt parts of our loose stone foundation. Most recently, they replaced the last original posts in our basement, (one of which was a tree trunk still with bark on it), including pouring new custom footings, in advance of our finally cementing the dirt floor. The work here is never easy - nothing is level, nothing is square - but the Greens' end result has always been beautiful - strong and made to last. Their prices are fair and without hidden costs....maybe not the lowest bid you might get, but you know it's a real bid that they will stand behind. They triage projects for us, giving us an idea of what other items will likely need attention in the next few years. We're not done with this house yet....we've never won the lottery, and there's always another repair..... and plan to use them again soon. I feel confident knowing that the next owners of this house, whoever they might be, will see the quality of the work and know that we cared enough to have the right people help us with the ongoing repair and maintenance of a 275+ year old house. I am a real person, a real customer, with no ties to the company, and was more than happy to write this review."
