"Kevin did an exceptional job installing an EV charger in my garage. His work was meticulously neat, ensuring everything was perfectly straight and tidy throughout. He skillfully managed the setup, maintaining clean and professional aesthetics from the electrical panel to the charger itself. From our initial call to the completed install, the process was smooth and swift, with Kevin keeping communication open and clear. His dedication to detail and quality work was evident in every aspect, making the whole experience impressive. Highly recommend him for his straightforward, professional service. Also, a shout out to Angi’s. This is my 3rd successful project via this service."

"[*** Link removed ***] Steve Durning's timing couldn't be better. He came on December 31 to fix my hallway light switch just before I prepared for a medical procedure. Steve reconnected a wire for a 3-way switch controlling the fixture. He also installed an exterior floodlight motion sensor and 2 new flood lamp holders in the rear of the house. Steve was accurate, quick, and explained what he was doing."

"Scott was great, offered a fair price, was flexible for scheduling, and finished the job quickly and well. We had a Bath fan install + an exterior electrical outlet installed and he was able to get it done within a few hours. The install looks clean and he took care to clean up afterwards too. Great work Scott! Thank you!"

Ev Charger Installer questions, answered by experts

Having a Level 2 charger can increase your home value, especially as electric vehicles become more popular. Homebuyers who have EVs or are interested in getting one will appreciate the convenience of a ready-to-use charging station. The added value can vary based on location and buyer preferences.

Hire an electrician the same way you would an employee. Ask questions and look for a good fit. Streamline the process by using these questions to ask an electrician. It's also common to ask for a quote in writing. Don’t forget to provide all the project details to ensure there are no surprises or opportunities for added fees.

Yes, you should get a quote or an estimate from an electrician. Most electricians offer free estimates or quotes. When getting quotes, do your research and verify each electrician’s license. Get quotes from three different electricians to compare. If the prices or items listed appear different on the quotes, ask the electrician to clarify. Learning as much as you can about the electrical work you want done will help you get the most accurate estimate.

The cost of installing a 240-volt outlet for an electric car averages between $175 and $300. Depending on the type of outlet as well as labor costs, you might pay as little as $130 or upwards of $400. Hiring a professional electrician makes up the bulk of the expense but ensures a safe and code-compliant installation.

Upgrading your electrical system can save you money on your monthly utility bills by powering your home more efficiently. Electrification nonprofit Rewiring America estimates that a household could save $1,800 per year on energy bills by upgrading to a modern electric heat pump, switching to a heat pump for their water, installing solar panels on the roof, and converting to an electric vehicle.
