"My Central AC unit went out; the box outside smelled like something had fried. I called NETR, and they said they would send a technican over in a week. The technician came on time and promptly inspected the unit. He reported that the capacitor had blown, and told me that he had a spare back in his van. The labor was covered by the diagnostic site visit fee, it was just the parts cost. I told him to proceed and he replaced it. My AC was back up and running within the hour."

"I highly recommend Steven Papuchis as an expert electrician who was prompt, easy to reach, and very efficient. We had an exhaust fan installed which required outdoor as well as indoor work and Steven was excellent in every way. Our indoor fan is quiet and efficient and our new lights and switches are perfect for the respective rooms. Thank you, Steven!"

"Anthony called right away and showed up on time. Both Anthony and Patrick were professional, knowledgeable and efficient. They walked in the door and immediately put on their booties. They installed a ceiling fan in my bedroom and a light over my painting. They vacuumed and cleaned up after they finished the job. They are a new company and young but I would hire them again because they know what they are doing."

"He responded to my e mail immediately. H e was on time to view the suite and decide what equipment he would need. He explained what he would have to do to install the fan. he also communicated nicely with Jacuzzi about the project I would have him do any project that needed to be done. Justin was polite, considerate and an overall nice guy. The kind of person you would want in your home doing electrical work"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Ceiling fans can be a great way to cool your home without the expensive utility bill of running an air conditioner. Plus, ceiling fans can sometimes run in both directions, pushing hot air down in winter and pulling cold air up in summer. With that said, air conditioning might be the only thing that helps if you live in a very warm climate.

The square footage of your room will dictate the correct ceiling fan blade size. For example:

  • Rooms smaller than 75 square feet require a fan that is 29 to 36 inches.

  • Rooms up to 175 square feet require 42- to 48-inch fans.

  • Rooms up to 350 square feet require 52- to 56-inch fans.

  • Expansive spaces over 350 square feet need a fan larger than 60 inches.

If your home already has wires for a ceiling fan (and optional light kit), then it’s quite safe to wire and install it yourself. Always be very careful to shut off the power before you begin, and confirm that the power is safely off with a non-contact voltage tester before touching anything. It’s also highly recommended to use eye protection, rubberized gloves, and tools with rubber handles to keep yourself safe from electric shock.

A typical fan installation takes between two and six hours. The exact timeframe can be influenced by factors such as the home's structure, existing electrical characteristics, ease of attic access, and whether complex wiring or additional attic ventilation work is required.

The more surface area that a ceiling fan blade has, the more effective it will be at producing airflow. Therefore, a longer ceiling fan blade is the better option if you’re looking for more wind. However, a longer blade will consume more energy than a shorter blade.
