"The professionals at Tree Huggers Tree Services, LLC did a great job on trimming back several limbs on a large tree in my front yard and cutting down 2 other trees from the side of my house. They worked very quickly and efficiently. I was thoroughly informed on everything that was being done according to what I needed and the estimate provided. All of my questions were answered and I’m glad I selected this company. They are very good to work with and I will definitely recommend them to my relatives, friends and neighbors that need tree work done."

"Rickie did a great job tackling a monster of a tree. Very friendly and takes pride in his work. I will hire him again if the need comes up. He also repaired my patio for a very reasonable price. Now I don't have a waterfall under the patio. 🤗"

"Paige Freeman got back to me promptly to arrange a viewing of my property.
Despite the rain he came out to give me a quote on full yard (jungle) clean up.
I was very happy with his quote compared to another local neighborhood landscaping company trying to charge me 4x as much.
Freeman's men came out on a Monday & everything was finished when I got off work - all brush offsite.
Paige looked over everything with me & even came back later in the week to cut some vines I pointed out didn't get all trimmed.
My one regret is I didn't cover my fountain as I think a blower was used & I have lots of leaves/twigs in my fountain now.
Be clear these guys are (Arborists)TREE trimmers - no weeds were cut as a landscape company would do.
I was very please with Paige's communication & speedy service. My jungle is gone!

Arborists questions, answered by experts

You can use a chainsaw, but it won’t remove the entire stump or root ball and is not a recommended method. It takes quite a bit of physical work to achieve and will likely dull or ruin your chainsaw. Instead, consider using salt, herbicide, light deprivation, boiling water, stump grinding, or burning to kill a tree stump. These methods allow you to kill a stump using minimal machinery and physical exertion.

Yes, you can prune a palm tree with a chainsaw, but a chainsaw is overkill for a job like this. You risk damaging the tree if you make a bad cut. More commonly, you’ll need pruning shears or a serrated knife to trim a palm tree, or you can use a specialized pruning saw instead of a chainsaw.

Not all leaning trees are dangerous, but they can be a hazard as gravity may eventually cause them to fall. A key factor is whether the lean is new or has been present for a long time. Trees that have grown with a lean for years are not typically an immediate danger, but a sudden lean is a cause for concern as it often indicates weakening roots. If a tree is leaning more than 15% from vertical, you should consider having it straightened or transplanted. To be safe, it's always best to hire a professional arborist to inspect any leaning tree to assess the risk and avoid potential accidents.

The best tools for tree removal include a chainsaw for large trees, an ax for notching and cutting down small trees, and a wedge to help control the direction a tree falls in. A hatchet can be useful for very small trees, but won’t be effective for medium to large trees.

You don’t always need a permit to grind a stump, but you might need one depending on your location and the stump’s surroundings. Permits are often needed if the stump is part of a protected tree species, near public areas or utility lines, or close to environmentally sensitive zones like wetlands. Some cities also regulate noise and work hours. Always check local rules before grinding, and contact your city or county office if you're unsure.
