"The evaluation to determine generator size was excellent. Very detailed by a very knowledgeable gentleman. Answered all my questions and further advised those things I should want to follow on installing my generator. Optimize were right on schedule the stated day of installation. Excellent young crew, very knowledgeable and worked together very well. Electrical questions, answered by experts

Yes, a faulty or broken light switch can be a serious fire hazard. Malfunctioning switches, often due to loose connections, exposed wiring, or overheating, can cause sparking or arcing. If you hear a crackling, popping, or hissing sound when you use the switch, it indicates live electricity arcing inside, which is a significant hazard that can ignite nearby flammable materials. If you suspect your light switch is faulty, turn off the power to that circuit at the breaker and contact a qualified electrician to remedy the issue.

A multimeter does not measure frequency, charge, inductance, and other electrical quantities. Instead, it measures voltage (AC and DC), current, and resistance.

Let them know exactly what type of job you need them to do, and be as specific as possible to get the most accurate estimate. A photo of your project might help them better understand your needs. Ask what kind of prep you should complete before they visit and what kind of cleanup to expect after the visit. Finally, ask how long the project usually takes.

Call your utility company immediately. Do not go outside, even in your own yard, and keep pets indoors. Downed power lines pose a serious electrocution hazard. They can also cause large power surges that could damage your appliances, so it’s a good idea to shut down power to your home if possible. If your breakers trip, leave them off until the utility company finishes its repair work.

The NEC requires electrical outlets be installed in a kitchen that has a sink 12 inches wide and 24 inches deep. According to the code, that outlet must be within 2 feet of the kitchen sink.
