"To be honest Im dealing with a complicated district and I was kind of frustrated that my project was handed off to a new person but Raegan Hammon was the most patient, kind, professional and efficient Architect I have ever had the pleasure 🙏 of doing business with. Im 44 years old. Happily married with 3 kids and 5 grandchildren. I graduated high school in 1995, and an associate's degree in drafting and design in 1998. I worked in the oil industry as a mechanical designer until my unfortunate layoff in 2016. After about a year working from home i realized i couldn't go back in the office for 5 days a week. Since i was 12 yrs old i worked with my uncles repairing and building houses and other structures. So I decided to take advantage of it along with the uncanny ability to fix things and start providing handyman services. And here we are.
Above all, the downside to building a new house is a longer timeline. You need several months to finish the build, depending on the supply chain and labor availability in the meantime. Building a home compared to buying one is also more expensive, both in the building process and when it comes to mortgage rates and property taxes.
You should have an architect involved in your project from the very beginning. They’ll be able to direct your vision into workable plans, and they can advise you on potential problems right from the start. You may be able to save money by not using an architect, but larger projects will go much more smoothly with an experienced pro directing the process.
Costs depend on project complexity, software requirements, and the draftsperson’s experience.
Drawing your own floor plans is acceptable for many kinds of projects, including interior design and room layout. You can use floor plan software to create the plans but keep in mind that the floor plan will only be as accurate as the measurements you take and enter into the software.
Choose an architect based on their portfolio, experience with similar projects, client reviews, and whether their design approach matches your vision.
