"First of all he's honest because everyone else wanted to charge me $800-$1200 dollars to relevel my trailer home. Eric came out and seen it was a simple fix and did it for $250 I was so impressed I decided to give him more work to clean my yard from storm damage and he and his helpers did a wonderful job they were fast efficient and respectful.And for the first time hiring handymen I didn't have to repeat myself to him Eric did exactly what I asked him to do Very Very impressed"

"How good is Ed Chachere?  It's hard to put in words the detail and meticulous nature of Ed and Elijah.  Their work is as close to perfection as possible in a restoration of a home where lumber was cut to a different specification than you find today.  They have repaired walls, floors, renovated bathrooms, resolved problems with old construction, and are in the final process of bringing the home back to it's original glory.  Ed is proficient at working with other contractors and has been invaluable in his ability to coordinate efforts.  Needless to say, not only has Ed done a fabulous job on the home's interior, but he has also saved our sanity during the process.  Interior of the home is near completion and we are starting on outside."

With genuine brick construction, most homeowners install furring strips over the interior of the brick and then install drywall over those strips to cover the brick wall, so they don’t have traditional framing.

For a professional carpenter, installing a window seat can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days, depending on some aspects of the project. Aside from building the seat itself, if they have to remove any cabinets, shelves, or baseboards, that will add time to the project.

There are a few easy ways to locate a wall stud without a stud finder. First, try knocking on the wall with your knuckles. Most parts of the wall will sound hollow, but when you tap over a stud, it will sound more solid. Alternatively, since studs are spaced 16 or 24 inches apart, you can measure those distances from a corner of the room, which will always have a stud.

Joists do distribute their load to beams, but they don’t sit on top of the beams. Instead, home builders nail or screw the joists directly to the beams such that the end of the joist butts up against the edge of the beam. Beams can sit on other beams for support, but you’ll never see a joist sitting on top of a beam or another joist.

While you can use virtually instant pneumatic nailers with wood, metal requires installing screws. However, because metal is lighter, straighter, usually comes cut-to-length, and doesn't require sorting for the best pieces, you can save significant time using metal instead of wood.
