Established in 1996 and a Super Service Award Winner on Angie's List, CabinetWorks provides great kitchen cabinet refacing and refinishing service to Angi Ads members. CabinetWorks Refinishing has built a reputation for quality work with each satisfied customer. I provide kitchen cabinet refinishing and refacing services and add both stock cabinets and custom cabinets. Go ahead and design your new cabinets and I will provide the new island or pantry cabinets to match the rest of the kitchen. Pull outs are very popular to make the kitchen cabinets more functional. New Shaker style doors and drawer fronts are the trendy style to update the kitchen. Because I work for myself, I can keep my prices low and my schedule is always open. No job is too big for me. I'm very timely and never lose attention to detail. My sense of craftsmanship is apparent in every kitchen project I complete.

"Couldn’t have gone any better. Jim kept me informed of all aspects of the job. He was on time and ahead of schedule. He stayed late to finish the job. My cabinets are beautiful. He is a perfectionist and it shows. I couldn’t be happier with the job he did. I would definitely recommend him and I plan on using him again soon."

I have done work in the residential industry since 1993, mostly design build of Custom Homes. I would work with the customer from beginning to end, what would be known as a turn key operation. In the last few years I have done more service work, mostly trying to concentrate on Kitchen Remodel. I am the one always who does the work, I do not sub anything out. I tear out and install everything myself, this includes, Cabinets, Trim, Laminate and Quartz Counters, Plumbing fixtures, Appliances, back splashes ETC. As long as you Supply and Pay for all the materials as needed, then there are no up charges on my end and you just pay me for Labor when I am done, unless its drawn out, then we can work something out. I'm there to provide you a service with Consulting with your design, Materials as needed and Desired Time Frame to meet your schedule and mine. What you get from me is Quality Installation of all the product you want in your Kitchen, without having to deal with a bunch of people. I am a Vetted Pro under Thumbtack, Porch, Pro Referral and Menards. If you would like to see References, You can find some on Thumbtack, Pro Referral and Porch. They are all set up differently but you will find all good reviews or all 5 star ratings. Menards has no Review program, they give my name out from my customer satisfaction response that comes back in and tells them directly. Obviously this the best result because they are talking directly with my customers.

"We contacted Mike several months prior to the actual start date of our kitchen remodel. From the first contact to the beginning of the project Mike stopped by to offer feedback and suggestions to make sure that our vision was brought to life. Mike is very knowledgeable, experienced, professional and was fun to work with. Should I ever need another kitchen I would contact him again. Satisfactory job! Thanks Mike."

Cabinet Refacing and Refinishing questions, answered by experts

To prepare for cabinet refinishing or refacing, it’s important to remove all items from the cabinetry in question. In addition, clear any clutter from the room, whether it's the kitchen, bathroom, or otherwise. Be sure to have additional cabinet materials, such as cabinet hardware, lights, and glass inserts, ready for your cabinet installer to use.

Finally, if you have pets, ensure they are in a safe, separate location away from your cabinet professionals, who will bring materials in and out of your home during the process.

Yes, it’s usually a good idea to take the time to remove cabinet doors before painting. This allows you to move your cabinet doors to a more convenient painting spot where you don’t have to worry about making a mess. Be sure to remove all hardware before starting your painting project.

Pre-painting prep includes cleaning, sanding, and priming the surfaces to ensure paint adhesion and longevity.

To achieve a smooth, even finish that’s free of brush strokes, spray painting is the way to go. However, it tends to use up more paint due to overspray and can have a learning curve before you perfect your technique. This isn’t to say that a brush or roller isn’t also an excellent tool, so you should test out each technique on a piece of cardboard or spare piece of wood beforehand to see which one gives you your desired look.

Sealing a cabinet after staining is optional but recommended for best results. Wood sealer keeps out moisture, which protects against scratches, warping, chipping, discoloration, and mildew. Sealer not only preserves the appearance of wood furniture but, like staining, enhances it by accentuating the wood’s natural color and grain.
