"Hello, and so sorry about any confusion I may have caused! Just to clear things up for any potential prospects out there, our hours are by appointment only, whether that appointment is in the studio or at the client's home. We do lots of evening appointments. Because of that, we need to have some family and personal time, so we reserve that for the weekends. Therefore, we do not meet with clients on Saturdays or Sundays. Regarding the quote, I did quote both "Special 6" colors which include New Venetian Gold, and "Group A" colors, which include Crema Pearl, which is the granite that the client seemed to be interested in, as she saw a sample at a home center. I was very clear, and probably pushy, about the fact that it is important for the client to actually view the slabs that will end up in the home, rather than making a decision by a sample only. Samples of natural stone can look very different than a full slab, and each slab of stone, even by the same name, can look different each time you see it. My recommendation to anyone looking at natural stone countertops is to find a good remodeling company that you are comfortable with, and then work within their parameters. Go right to their fabricator and make a selection, rather than making a selection from a home center sample, or from a sample located in a retail establishment, and then trying to make that work with the remodeler. A good solid remodeling company will have lots and lots of choices available and this will eliminate a lot of wasted time for both the client and the remodeling company. No, I did not quote track lighting, as no product selection was made. I did ask for a model number or picture of the kind of lighting requested and did not receive anything. This was no big deal, as I thought we would work on this together at our next meeting, which would be in the studio. That appointment was never set. As an alternative, to get an idea of cost out there, I quoted can lighting, which does not require any selection by the client and is easy to quote, and looks great in the home. Remember that an estimate is merely a starting point for the development of a project. It takes several meetings and revisions involving both parties, to eventually get to a final, planned project, which will culminate in the form of a signed contract which will include all of the pieces and parts ironed out in detail. We aren't there yet. We are still at step one of many more to come if this were to develop into a project. Best of luck in your search for a solid contractor.
