Shane Elmore Plumbing was founded in April, 2005, by Darren Shane Elmore. Shane started his company with a truck, an apprentice, and some tools. Originally starting in Smith's Grove, Kentucky, they also serviced Bowling Green, Kentucky and the surrounding areas. Shane grew up working for the plumbing division of his father's HVAC company, doing mostly commercial work. The company eventually grew to 7 vehicles on the road, with the main focus being new construction. Shane Elmore Plumbing has always been about family, with Shane's wife, (Melanie), son (Nathan) and daughter-in-law (Faith), all working for the company. The company has grown to include a service division, with Shane Elmore managing new construction and Chris Works managing the service department. The original shop in Smith's Grove is still used, and a new service office in the heart of Bowling Green has recently opened in an effort to obtain more exposure and ease of service to the customer. Shane Elmore Plumbing has 17 trucks; 10 trucks in the new construction division, and 7 trucks in the service division. The company is showing more growth everyday, and constantly looking to add to the team. Shane Elmore Plumbing relies on the faith of the community for their excellent reputation, and has been voted "Best of Bowling Green" for 2 consecutive years. Shane Elmore Plumbing constantly attempts to keep a family atmosphere, while at the same time trying to instill, and keep, a specific culture of taking care of loyal customers as well as their valued team. With the impressive growth Shane Elmore Plumbing has created, the sky truly is the limit for the entire team.

"Technician was polite, courteous, efficient and performed the tasks excellently. I signed the forms on his tablet that he requested. I printed out the invoices the next day and the charges did not match the work that was performed which of course makes you feel like they are throwing in stuff that shouldn’t be on the bill. The manager agreed that I was billed for the wrong items but still believed $596 was a fair price. Expansion tanks cost $39. After hours charge was $99. He was at my house a total of probably two hours at the most So another $200 for labor maybe. That all totals $339. Why $596? There’s no excuse for it. I requested an updated bill with the proper items to be billed. I was told I would get one but did not."

We offer state-of-the-art medical and surgical treatments for many symptoms women face. Our practice includes three board-certified obstetrician/gynecologists, a nurse midwife, and a physician's assistant. These providers, along with the staff work hard to promote a comfortable and caring environment. Dr. Frederick was the first general gynecologist in the state of Kentucky (and in our servic area) to successfully complete the requirements to utilize the Da vinci robotic surgical system. This allows for minimally invasive hysterectomy and pelvic floor surgery that would otherwise require large incisions. We also treat female urinary incontinence, many types of sexual dysfunction, and prolapse of the vagina, uterus, and bladder.

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

This depends on the location of the blockage. If the blockage is in your home’s system, anywhere in the system, it is your responsibility as a homeowner. Blockages seldom happen because of items or buildup coming from the city, which means it originates in the home. It becomes the city’s responsibility at the exact point your home’s line distributes waste into the city’s system. The exception is if the problem in your home damages the city lines.

It’s generally safe to stay in a house that smells like sewage, but you should get the problem fixed as soon as possible. In most cases, the level of sewer gas you’re exposed to in a home will be low enough to only cause minor symptoms, though high levels of gas exposure can be more dangerous. If you’re smelling sewer gas in your home, it’s important to locate, assess, and fix the problem, because it won’t go away on its own.

Homeowners insurance usually doesn’t cover sewer backups because it’s typically an avoidable problem with proper maintenance. The only exception would be if the backup is occurring because of local flooding and only if your city uses a combined drainage system for stormwater and sewage. If that’s the case, your policy should cover any resulting damage.

If you’re wondering whether rats can come up the toilet, the unfortunate answer is yes, it’s possible, though it’s extremely rare. These rodents are excellent swimmers and can travel through sewer pipes in search of food, and they may follow plumbing lines leading to your home if they’re drawn by the scent of scraps and waste. The toilet’s U-bend holds a small pocket of air, which can help a rat catch its breath before making its final push into your bathroom. While more common in cities with larger rat populations, this can happen anywhere with connected sewer systems; sealing entry points and keeping drains clean can help reduce the risk.

Your home has a few telltale signs of a sewer line problem. If you notice multiple plumbing fixtures (toilet, sink, or shower drains) appear to be clogged, call a plumber ASAP. Also, if water appears in the tub or shower when you flush the toilet, you likely have a sewer line issue. A sulfur (rotten eggs) smell and bubbling or gurgling noises at the drain also warrant a check. And keep your eyes peeled for changes to the yard, such as a new indentation or mysteriously soggy grass.
