"Unprofessional in that cost estimates were not provided in writing. Work was satisfactory when done, but prices were high. Made mistake of paying for some work in advance. He promised to do work on a certain day, but did not. Waited for him to return to do work. Found out he went on vacation. I advised him I had started spreading the fill dirt myself, and he still did not schedule to work. Requested refund and he refused. I was charged double for concrete work done by his partner on the project. He gave half to the concrete company and kept half for himself for doing nothing. Garage door was installed wrong. I paid Overhead Door $100 to correct. Could not get refund. His partner on the project (concrete company) cut ties with him in middle of project due to problems. Business does not appear to be legally incorporated and in my experience is very unprofessional, dishonest, and unethical."

Sewell Construction is a family owned & operated business with over 15 years experience in Renovations & New Construction. I started framing custom beach houses on Isle of Palms, SC in the late 90’s. From there I moved onto interior/exterior trim with one of the top builders in Charleston, SC. In 2013 a friend & I established our first company C&S Construction. We successfully completed many projects including Historical Renovations, New Construction, & Additions. In June, 2017 we moved from Charleston, SC to Morehead, KY to be closer to family. Since our move here we’ve met some great people and thoroughly enjoy everything that the Bluegrass State has to offer!

If your garage floor is heavily soiled or stained, then it’s a good idea to powerwash it with a concrete cleaner before sealing. This process will remove dirt and debris to help the new sealer bond to the concrete properly, and it will also improve the look of your sealed garage floor. After power washing your floor, make sure you let the concrete dry completely before applying sealant, usually for 24 to 48 hours.

The best way to resurface a concrete porch is to clean and prep the surface, pour a layer of concrete on top, allow it to cure, then seal it. A concrete overlay provides a durable layer and enhances your porch's look. You can even choose a stamped overlay to make it look like stone or brick. To ensure structural integrity, repair concrete cracks before applying the new concrete. If the existing concrete is in significant disrepair, consider removing and replacing the concrete instead of an overlay.

Generally speaking, epoxy is the best garage floor coating. There are two main types of garage floor coating you can consider: epoxy and polyaspartic. Epoxy coating comes at a more affordable price but loses when it comes to durability and long-term use. Polyaspartic coatings cost more and don’t offer as much traction, but they withstand accidents better and don’t tend to fade. Most homeowners choose an epoxy coating.

Resurfacing a garage floor takes about eight hours on average, with another couple hours over three days to do the epoxy. Epoxy goes on in three coats, with each coat taking 24 hours to dry and cure. You’ll need to keep foot and vehicle traffic off of your garage floor for around 4 days in total when replacing your garage floor, so be sure to plan ahead before you start. This is a great time to organize your garage since you’ll need to move everything out to apply the epoxy.

Concrete stain should last for five to 20 years, depending on the type of stain you use. Acid-based concrete stains can last up to 20 years if they’re well-maintained, though you'll do well to reseal the concrete every few years. Water-based concrete stains will last about five years before the color begins to fade, especially on outdoor concrete projects that see UV light, rain, and snow. Most homeowners reseal their stained concrete every three to five years to maintain the color, regardless of the type of stain they used.
