"Well, the system is great! It took a while to get the system installed due to paper work for grant and bank loan. Finally got system up and running on 10/5/16.  The system provides complete energy for our house and business. And we don't have to pay the electric company, in fact they will be paying us for any overflow production.

If your are interested is installing, you better hurry because the demand is increasing dramatically and the waiting time for installation will take a while.

Brian Brown from Renewable Engineered Systems is our provider. Very easy to work with and they are a local company with a very professional attitude.  His contact phone number is 276-226-0228"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Marion, electrical contractors range from residential specialists handling home wiring, panel upgrades, and lighting, to commercial electricians serving local businesses and farms. Many also offer emergency repairs and rural services, such as well pump wiring or barn electrical upgrades. Some contractors focus on advanced projects like solar panel installation, electric vehicle charging stations, and smart home automation, addressing Marion’s unique mix of rural and residential needs.

Helpful?

When planning electrical projects in Marion, homeowners should account for local permit requirements, compliance with Kentucky codes, and inspection timelines. Coordination with the local electric cooperative is crucial for projects near power lines or involving new service connections. Factors like rural grid reliability, distance from main supply lines, and soil conditions for grounding can impact project design. Seasonal weather, especially storms and ice, may also affect scheduling and preparations.

Helpful?

Regular maintenance in Marion includes annual inspections of electrical panels and wiring, monthly testing of GFCI outlets, and routine smoke detector checks. Due to Marion’s humid summers and frequent storms, it’s important to inspect outdoor fixtures and connections before severe weather. Tree trimming near power lines and pest control around electrical equipment are especially important for rural homes, helping prevent outages and maintain safe, reliable electrical service.

Helpful?

Electrical upgrades in Marion homes enhance comfort by supporting efficient heating and cooling, crucial during humid summers. Modern panels and updated wiring improve safety and reliability, while smart home features add convenience. Outdoor lighting and surge protection boost security and storm readiness. These improvements also increase property value and support rural living, making it easier to power workshops, barns, and recreational vehicles throughout Marion.

Helpful?

Marion homeowners are increasingly choosing smart thermostats, integrated security systems, and automated lighting for convenience and efficiency. Energy-saving upgrades like LED fixtures and motion-activated outdoor lighting are popular, especially for rural properties. Electrical contractors often install whole-house surge protection and upgraded panels to support modern appliances, while barn wiring, RV hookups, and well pump systems remain common for Marion’s rural households.
