"I needed a vent pipe rerouted in my attic, as the original design was not installed to let the water drain. Mike from Tom Drexler called to let me know he was on his way, gave me the estimate before starting work, and explained what he was doing and why. He was very knowledgeable and fixed the pipes quickly and made sure it was working properly before leaving. I was very satisfied with the service. The price was more than I was expecting but I am happy to have this fixed, as it was causing leaks in my kitchen ceiling and I should not have any other issues. I will be requesting Mike for any future plumbing issues."

"What an absolutely amazing experience! I couldn't be happier with the professionalism, quality, and friendliness of Alpha Electric. I had a complete panel refresh and electricity run to a nearby workshop. The work was completed on time and they communicated well at every step of the process. They will be my first call for my next project."

"Great replacement experience until the end. They messed up my ceiling trim and paint and didn't come back as promised. I had to call the manager to get repairs done. They also suck at follow up customer service. They didn't call to see if I was happy with my installation or to see if I wanted a service plan. Oh well. Their loss."

"Tony Rouzer along with his 2 crew members arrived each day fully prepared to do the painting of  several rooms in my home. They were very quiet, polite, thorough,,,no chitchat,,,no loud music,,,efficiently and professionally performed the day's tasks. Each evening they cleaned and put away their tools and equipment - ready for the next day's work.
There were several rooms to paint with tall ceilings, crown molding, baseboards, doors, fireplace mantels, windows, bookcases. A lot of work. The crew took care of moving furniture and paintings, lamps,  and numerous decorator items. When the job was finished they assisted in returning furniture and small items back. One of the crew members even washed the kitchen cabinets! Mr. Rouzer went out of his way to shop for and install a much better wall hanging system for the very large hand painted screen on the living room wall. One of the crew members even washed the ceiling fans! There were a few mistakes (literally only 2 small spots missed on ceiling) and when pointed out, Mr. Rouzer immediately corrected. Oh, did I mention he brought me some doughnuts!
The price for doing the work was very competitive and fair. The value far exceeded the price. The work they did was meticulous, beautiful, without a doubt the best painting contractor I have ever hired.
I would not hesitate to recommend Mr. Rouzer and Pro Painters Plus. The experience of working with Pro Painters Plus was worry free. Excellent job, well done.

Shirley J Carmichael

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

There are several telltale signs to let you know that your ceiling fan needs servicing or replacement. For instance, if it’s wobbling, rotating too slowly, or if your ceiling fan is making noise such as squeaks, buzzes, and thumps, it’s time to have it looked at by a professional. Not only may it indicate a potential problem with the fan itself, but it could also signal a red flag that it’s improperly assembled or there’s an issue with the wiring.

Ceiling fans are very often worth the investment because they improve comfort in your living space and help reduce utility bills. In the late spring and early fall—and even in the summer in some areas—homeowners with ceiling fans can often get away with open windows and fans, which can cut down on cooling bills and also reduce wear and tear on the HVAC system. Over time, ceiling fans can pay for themselves by saving you money on electric bills and air conditioner repair and maintenance.

Fan power is measured by CFM, or cubic feet per minute. For every 1,000 feet of square footage in your attic, you need a minimum of 700 CFM. Steeper roofs may need larger fans or about 840 CFM.  You can figure the size of attic fan you need by multiplying the square footage of your attic floor by 0.7. (multiply by 1.2 for a steep roof and 1.15 for a dark roof). That number is the CFM required for your fan to run efficiently.

Yes, you can install a ceiling fan where a standard light fixture is, as the electrical wiring is often similar and may not need to be replaced. The most important step is to ensure the ceiling can support the fan's weight and motion. You will need to replace the existing light fixture's electrical box with a fan-rated electrical box, which is specifically designed to handle the extra weight and vibration. These boxes will be labeled as suitable for ceiling fan support and will indicate the maximum weight they can hold. Before you begin, also consider if you need an extension rod for a high ceiling or a special mount for an angled ceiling.

In short, no. You can use the square footage range chart in this article to determine the right size ceiling fan for both indoor and outdoor spaces. However, weather elements can damage types of ceiling fans that aren't designed for outdoor use, so your ceiling fan should be weather-resistant if you plan to install it outside.
