"A-1 Pest Control saved us from thousands of dollars that we would have had to spend for extensive termite damage in our garage. The representative came out the same day I called and was able to provide a second opinion/inspection of damage from a previous termite infestation. He took the time to look behind the drywall and found extensive damage; despite previous treatments for termites, no one had ever proposed looking behind the wall to survey possible structural involvement. He was knowledgeable and took the time to explain the problem and the solution, putting our minds at ease. We were then able to face the situation head on and to remedy it before it became too big to manage. A-1 Pest Control not only saved us money but helped to make our home safer and more structurally sound. I would recommend them to anyone who is interested in thorough analysis of the problem and timely solutions! Thanks A-1!!"

"My experience with Matt was professional and methodical. He trapped and released animals to clear them from my attic then found where they were entering and made necessary repairs to prevent further problems."

"I called primarily because we had'nt used the insert in a few years and had gotten a wasp's nest in the chimney which was removed when we had the roof redone.  I wanted to find out if a screen could be put on top to stop wasps from getting in.  After being told they had had a 1 and 1/2 hour drive to get to me they could'nt do anything  but put on a new cap for 400 to 500 dollars which would make it worth their while for the trip.  They did'nt do a cleaning and were here for about 20 minutes.  It was a special they were running for a cleaning and inspection.

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Stink bugs are herbivores, so they do not bite. Their mouths are designed for feeding on plants. They do not have a stinger either, so the worst part of these pests is the foul odor they emit when they are disturbed. However, you want to avoid allowing an infestation to set in, so you should consider calling an exterminator if you are struggling to get rid of them.

Wasps are attracted to three primary things: Bright colors, food sources, and softened wood they can use for nests. They are more active in warmer months, which is when outdoor flowers and dinners also become more common. You can decrease the attention of wasps by keeping trash bins closed and avoiding bright flower colors in furniture or tablecloths.

Like a rent-controlled apartment in New York City, rodents know a good thing when they see it. If they've found a cozy nest inside your home, they will set up camp and stay there, leaving only to forage for food and water. As long as they have a warm place to sleep, raise their young, and continue access to water and food, they're going to stick around.

To heat up a room to kill bed bugs, you’ll need to put either a portable heat chamber or hot dryer in the space. Larger heat chambers can be used to heat up furniture, while only professional heating systems can heat an entire home or structure at a high enough temperature to kill bed bugs. Keep in mind that this method is most effective when done by a bed bug professional with professional-grade equipment to eradicate the bed bugs without damaging your home.

Setting up an animal trap in your yard largely depends on where you live and the type of critter you're dealing with. In many states, trapping nuisance animals like squirrels, rats, or raccoons is allowed, sometimes without needing a permit. However, certain wildlife species are protected, and not all states have lenient catch-and-release regulations.

Before placing a trap, check your local laws to avoid fines or other legal issues. Some areas allow DIY trapping, while others may require professional assistance. Most areas require a professional to relocate the animal once trapped. Consulting a pro ensures you handle the situation responsibly, humanely, and within the law.
