"We bought a two-story brick house with a walkout basement. The entire basement had to be gutted due to a burst water line and the mold and mildew that developed while the house sat empty - even the ceiling had to come down. Although the walls had been insulated with Fiberglass batts, the rim joist had never been insulated. Lots of air leaks at the rim joist, around the windows and around the fiberglass.  Louisville Spray Foam Insulation sprayed closed-cell foam from the top of the rim joist/band joist all the way down to the basement floor. The difference is truly amazing! Our house sits very close to the road and before the spray foam application you could hear cars coming down the road long before they passed in front of the house ? now I only hear them when they are directly in front of the house and only when I am standing right at a window. The foam seals it up very tight! The basement has a totally new warm cozy feeling with no cold corners or any lingering dampness. It just doesn't feel like a basement at all now. The foam applicators were careful to mask off areas where there might be overspray, like our brick fireplace, floor and stairwell. They did a good job of cleanup when they were done and we were able

I guess what I take away from this process is this: there is no real comparison between fiberglass and spray foam insulation. They may both use "R-Values" to try to explain how well they insulate, but the difference is so much more. The closed-cell spray foam is not just insulation, it is also a vapor barrier that seals every little space. It can't absorb water or get damp or sag over time. Fiberglass is done, part of history. I could never see myself using it again."

"Insulated my attic with Owens-Corning R60 and I already can feel a big difference in the comfort of my home. Very reasonable price, considering the rising cost of insulation. Highly recommend this team!"

"The job went fantastic. They were punctual, professional and affordable. I highly recommend them for basement finishing. They did the framing, electrical, and drywall. My husband and I did all the trim work, wainscoting, and light fixtures. Someone else installed the flooring. They were finished in three weeks time. Unfortunately I could not get my photos past the framing to load."

"I have hired companies in the past that have failed to complete the job in a timely manner and have ended up costing far more than the original quote. New circle handled my problem with efficiency and care. They were very respectful and I will be returning to them any time future issues arise."

"Everything turned out very good. My blinds were put up incorrectly but he will fix it if I call him. They have done other painting services in the past and I have always been pleased. They are not cheap but they do a very good job. Everyone is very professional and very educated. They always show up on time."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

A post-drywall inspection could uncover many problems that weren’t present during the pre-drywall inspection, including insufficient insulation, missing weather stripping, improperly installed plumbing and lighting fixtures, flooring damage, drywall damage, plumbing leaks, aesthetic issues, and more. Structural problems, which are often expensive to fix and are common reasons to walk away after a home inspection, are easier to see before the drywall goes up, but a post-drywall inspection may highlight minor issues with house settling and foundation problems.

On average, drywall installation costs around $2,000, with a typical range of $400 to $6,000, including materials and labor. The final price depends on several factors. The most significant is the size of the area, as many contractors charge per square foot. Other cost factors include the complexity of the job (e.g., cutting around multiple windows and doors, corners, or curved walls), accessibility, location, the thickness of the drywall, the height of the room, and the desired level of finish. The level of finish can range from simply hanging the drywall to taping and mudding the seams and painting the walls.

When choosing materials for finishing basement walls, consider factors such as moisture resistance, durability, and fire resistance. Opt for materials specifically designed for basement environments, like moisture-resistant drywall or cement board. Insulation with vapor barriers can help regulate temperature and prevent condensation. Consider using mold-resistant paints or coatings.

Research and consult with experts to select materials that are suitable for your specific basement conditions and intended use. Prioritize quality and compatibility to achieve long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing results.

Yes, as drywall mud is going to have some uneven spots and bumps after application. Such imperfections are going to be visible after everything dries and even after you paint the wall, so you want to remove them. Learning how to sand drywall, taking your time, and following drywall sanding tips can help you have the best results.

If you don’t have studs in the area where you want to install your TV mount, you may still be able to install a TV mount on drywall. The easiest way to install a mount on drywall is by using drywall anchors—but not just any plastic anchors. Choose molly bolts or toggle anchors, which have a weight capacity of around 50 pounds. For added support, consider pairing drywall anchors with a wall mounting plate. Extra heavy TVs may need to be mounted via the ceiling joists or beams.
