"Alkass Flooring and the owner Harold did an outstanding job for us! I highly recommend them for your project too. They had the best price and by far the best knowledge of the process. They removed tile, installed new hardwood, and sanded and refinished all the existing hardwood in the house. The finished project was beautiful and the owner will walk you through the entire process ! I will highly recommend them to all my friends and family. Keep up the good work Alkass flooring great job and thank you again!!"

"Bryan and his crew did a fantastic job. They were very thorough in setting all nails, filling where needed, and even gluing down some spots. They were very professional, did a phenomenal job on the sand, and the coats of urethane were expertly done. The floor looks FANTASTIC compared to where I was before, and I am really pleased with the results! The kitchen which has a newer floor looks immaculate! The older floors were pretty badly marred, and they made them look 60 years younger.. It was an amazing feat honestly."

"We contracted Bailey to install LVP flooring in our condo . This was a huge project for us and we were extremely nervous . Baileys communication and helping us understand put us at ease . He removed all the carpet for us and completed the prep work on day one . The next 2 days the flooring was installed and looks amazing . This project was done in a timely manner and we couldnâ  t be happier . I wanted to add that he cleaned up each day and never left a mess . Thank you so much for your hard work . We will call you again on any projects in the future ."

"A week before my house was to be placed on the market, my 6yo accidentally knocked over a can of white paint onto my hardwood floor. I immediately called the professionals, Footprints Flooring, to have them lead me in the right direction. They were able to come out at a moments notice and did an incredible job blending the dull, discolored area of my hardwood flooring. Very professional, prompt and knowledgeable! Highly recommend!"

"I dealt with Tim for the price and project details and then Jeff was the man who came out to do the job. The deck had previously been done by a guy who did not know what he was doing so Jeff power washed the entire deck and let it dry for 24 hours, then he sanded the deck and scrubbed it down with denatured alcohol to help remove any remaining paint from before. When the deck was dry, Jeff taped off everything and proceeded to edge everything before he rolled a nice thick layer of paint on the deck. We waited another 24 hours and Jeff returned to apply a nice second coat of paint on the entire deck. Tim and Jeff are very easy to work with and I will most certainly come back to them for future projects."

Floor Sanding questions, answered by experts

Prior to excavation, you should prepare the dig site and call 311 before you sign anything.

To get your site ready for excavation, you should move anything in the area that isn’t affixed to the land. You can save money on the excavation by removing hardscaping, including walkways, decks, concrete patios, and paver patios.

Before you carry out any digging, you should call 311 to confirm that there are no utility lines running through your excavation site. Skipping this step could lead to severe injury and property damage if your excavator hits a water, sewage, or gas line.

To prepare for a land survey, you must thoroughly check your land surveyor’s qualifications, reviews, and fees to align with your expectations. When it is time for the survey to be conducted, ensure that you have all your documents organized and available, know and mark your property lines, and inform your neighbors that the survey is happening.

If you’re planning to dig on your property, you’ll need to check for underground utility lines. Call the national call-before-you-dig 811 number. Once connected to an operator, you can schedule a site visit to mark underground lines. This way, you won’t accidentally dig into pipes and can cause major (read: costly) issues.

Property lines, building locations, and potential encroachments are mapped.

If you can’t find any records online, you’ll need to contact your county clerk’s office to do further research. They should have property records on file, or can at least point you in the right direction of who to contact. You can also speak with your neighbors about when their houses were built because they were likely built around the same time.
