"Refloor did a great job on my basement and laundry room floors. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and made picking a color easy. My old floors were scratched up because of my dogs but my new floor is definitely more durable. I definitely recommend Refloor to anyone that wants new flooring in their home, you won't be disappointed!"

"Bobby and his crew were great! Bobby was a wonderful, responsible project manager, who stopped by at the beginning and throughout the project to ensure everything was done correctly. His crew is full of efficient, really great men and we are very impressed with their work. They arrived on time every day, did expert work, and completed the project much quicker than we expected. I would highly recommend Lovell's Hardwood Flooring to anyone who has any sort of hardwood flooring needs."

"Every now and then a supplier really surprises me in a very positive way and Ninja did that. First of all, Cleveland took plenty of time to go thorough options, talk about the positives and negatives to consider, explained how they did things as well as what I needed to do to make things run smoothly. I had looked up normal pricing for these kinds of projects and the price was very fair. We set a date, he contacted me to confirm the date, and he and the workers showed up on time. The workers were thorough, tireless and careful in their work as well as courteous and pleasant. They finished slightly ahead of schedule and the work was perfect from all I can tell. Then Cleveland was gracious enough to take some time the day after the work was finished to review how to take care of the floor, brought me a gift to squeegee the floor as well as a lovely hand written note thanking me for my business. I strongly recommend them."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

If you also need to know how to fill the gap between the floor and the baseboard, it's best to use a flexible, paintable latex caulk. Clean the area thoroughly to remove dust and debris. Then, apply a smooth bead of caulk along the gap using a caulking gun, and use a caulk-smoothing tool to press and smooth it into place. If the gap is large, you may need to insert backer rod, such as a foam filler, before caulking. Once dry, paint the caulk to match the baseboard for a clean, seamless look.

If you’re doing a full bathroom remodel, the flooring will go in before the vanity and any other bathroom cabinetry. This will ensure that the same floor is present across your whole bathroom should you ever tear out your vanity and start again.

If you can only budget for one or the other, you can still replace just the vanity in your bathroom. Just keep in mind that if you decide to replace your flooring later, you’ll need to tear out the vanity to avoid having mismatched floors.

The costs range from $3 to $10 per square foot, depending on the carpet type, labor, and subfloor preparation.

Many services include the removal and disposal of old carpet. Confirm with your provider.

You can use underfloor heating with most kinds of flooring. However, particularly thick carpet will create problems, since it will absorb a lot of the heat and make it difficult to feel. Also, there are some concerns that underfloor heating can dry out natural wood over time, so if you have wood flooring, get an expert opinion on whether radiant heating is appropriate.
