"Bryan and his crew did a fantastic job. They were very thorough in setting all nails, filling where needed, and even gluing down some spots. They were very professional, did a phenomenal job on the sand, and the coats of urethane were expertly done. The floor looks FANTASTIC compared to where I was before, and I am really pleased with the results! The kitchen which has a newer floor looks immaculate! The older floors were pretty badly marred, and they made them look 60 years younger.. It was an amazing feat honestly."

"I recently coated the concrete floor in my garage, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The quality of the work is beautiful and the floor looks smooth and solid. What impressed me the most was the professionalism throughout the entire process. Cleve was great and explained the project clearly and answered any questions I had. On top of that, the price was actually lower than I expected, which made the whole experience even better. It’s hard to find a company that delivers quality work that doesn’t break the budget. If you’re considering a concrete floor coating for your space, I definitely recommend Ninja Floors. Excellent work and an overall smooth experience! 10/10"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Carpet tiles are less expensive than traditional carpet. The average cost of carpet installation is $1,800, or $3 to $11 per square foot. In comparison, carpet tiles cost $2.50 to $11 apiece and can often be bought in bulk cartons. Since you can more easily DIY carpet tiles, you may be able to save on installation costs, too.

To prep a floor for painting, start by sweeping and cleaning any loose debris that could puncture the protective material. Take out as much furniture as possible. Then lay plastic, canvas, rosin paper, or masonite sheets across the room, securing them at the edges with masking tape. Plan your painting so that you minimize the chances you’ll step in and track any splatters.

Whether or not transition pieces go under the baseboard depends on a few different factors. If the transitions are being installed with the flooring and before the baseboards, then they will go under the baseboards. If the baseboards are already installed, then it depends on whether or not you want to remove them or undercut them. If not, the transition pieces can butt up against the baseboard.

As with anything you buy, be wary of prices that seem too good to be true. Some low-cost flooring products can contain chemicals that release harmful VOCs (volatile organic compounds) in the form of fumes that can be inhaled or dust that can cause skin conditions.

Even good-quality products can be dangerous for DIY-ers who don’t take proper precautions. Always carefully read manufacturer instructions and wear the recommended protective gear when working with paints and other chemicals. You can also hire a local garage flooring pro with the experience and equipment needed to perform the installation safely with no lingering fumes or debris.

You can use underfloor heating with most kinds of flooring. However, particularly thick carpet will create problems, since it will absorb a lot of the heat and make it difficult to feel. Also, there are some concerns that underfloor heating can dry out natural wood over time, so if you have wood flooring, get an expert opinion on whether radiant heating is appropriate.
