Ductwork will occasionally make noise as the metal experiences rapid temperature or air pressure changes. Regular air duct cleaning will also extend the life of your HVAC system, leading to less frequent repairs and preventing premature replacement in the future.

When your HVAC system is loud, a few different causes are possible. If you have loose connections or bolts in the hardware, they can rattle as the system runs and vibrates. If you have an extremely dirty furnace filter, it could cause the system to generate noise. More commonly, an excessively loud HVAC system indicates a malfunction in the system. You may have a blower motor that is close to failing or a compressor that is breaking down. These issues require an immediate inspection.

While sprinkling boric acid in roach-prone areas is an effective way to get rid of them, it’s not safe to introduce those chemicals into your home’s air system. Instead, put boric acid or diatomaceous earth in a spot that roaches may walk through, infesting them and the rest of the infestation.
