I have a high-quality area rug so I wanted professional cleaning. The person sent to pick up the rug told us what it would cost and that was $100 more than the estimate given over the phone when I booked the pickup. That was my fault because I estimated the size incorrectly. I was promised it would be back in a week to a week and a half. Two and a half weeks later I called to find out where my rug was. I was told that it was drying and they'd call back to tell me when it would be returned. It was returned two days later, with no prior phone call. I was not expecting it to be returned that day (because they had not called me) so I wasn't home. They left it on the doorstep! I found it when I came home after 5 pm. This is a $5000 wool Karastan rug abandoned on my doorstep during the holiday season when all the news stations were carrying stories about packages being stolen off people's doorsteps! I was lucky it was still there! And the texture of the rug has changed. It is much more limp now than it was when I sent it to be cleaned. I don't know why it has changed, but now it bunches up when we walk across it, even though I always use a carpet pad under it. I am disappointed with both the professionalism of this company and the quality of the results.

The tech was great! He was good with my dogs, spotted their soil stains, worked quickly and efficiently, and left me with clean carpets. He also cleaned the sofa that my dogs like to lie on -- it looks new again!

Mike was great! My carpet is on it's last threads, so-to-speak, and really needs to be replaced, but I can't afford to replace it yet. Mike was able to work miracles to make my decades-old carpet look (and smell) almost new. My couch is a LOT newer - it has that fancy microfiber cloth and had been scotch guarded when I originally purchased it a couple of years ago. But I also have dogs and there have been times when a wet and muddy dog comes in from outside without giving me a chance to wipe them down. It seems like they head directly for the couch and flop down on it every time. Mike was able to make the couch cushions look brand new (the rest is leather).
Mike was also personable, professional, and efficient. He even shared his recipes for all types of stain removal solutions - things I could mix up and use myself in between visits from him. I would easily recommend him to my own mother (and that's a high recommendation).

We have used Basic Carpet Care for years now, and we are always extremely pleased with their excellent service. Our carpets look and feel great after they are cleaned. The staff at Basic Carpet Care are always very professional and easy to work with. We appreciate the fact they are always here on time. They listen and clean exactly what we want cleaned. Before the cleaning the rugs looked drab and lifeless, with stains here and there. Now they look great. Their color is vibrant and they don't look anywhere near 40 years old.

Technician arrived at promised pickup and delivery times. Technician was courteous and helpful. Technician had actually cleaned the rugs and could speak to specific stain removal, etc. Office followed up after delivery to check job satisfaction. Actual bill was as quoted. Recently moved to Lawrence so not familiar with local rates but satisfied with quality for price paid.

It was really the worst experience in my life. The third time they did some damage with a large machine. We have a house that is divided into apartments for students. They came to clean the carpet in a studio. First off; I had to call them again, because the first time they didn't do a good job at all. They didn't clean some areas that they told me they were going to clean. For example the carpet inside the closet. I asked them to do it, and when I came back to check they didn't do it. The edges were completely dirty. It was a really, really bad job. It looked like they didn't do anything. They wanted to do it real quick. I don't know if hey had another job or what, but they wanted to do it as quickly as possible. It should have took them an hour, but it took them like 10 minutes. I called the company, and the lady who answered the phone I think her name was Lora. If you call them to let them know you are pleased with the job they are nice, but if you call to make a complaint they are not. As soon as I told her that one of the apartments wasn't clean; and it was a very bad job, and i wanted them to come back she immediately changed her attitude. She was being nice up till then. She was not being helpful or try to solve the issue. She started asking my why I didn't like the job and to explain in detail. I said it's just dirty. She wanted to know why and what part was dirty. She was not helpful. I told her finally "I think you should come and see for yourself." It was like she was suggesting that I was telling lies. She said she would send them again, and wanted to know when they could come again; but she was not happy doing that. It was like I was forcing her to do it. They came back, and the second time they came they used a machine that has a very large bowl. This is like a hundred year old house and the ceiling is very tall. If we want to change the bulbs we have to hire someone to do it, because hey are so tall. We had some antique fixtures in the ceiling. They broke the fixture located in the bedroom. I found a lot off glass on the floor and that's how i knew. I called her, and explained it to her. She said "are you sure?" Trying to suggest that I was again trying to tell lies. I told her I was just going to buy the fixture, and fix it myself. I was really, really, really upset. They said if you send a picture of what it use to look like, and we will try to find something similar. I went to Home Depot and I found something that was like $7 or $10. I called her and told her , and she said she would call back and figure out how we can repay it or make it work. They never called me again. She was almost laughing like saying that's ridiculous. I called Stanley Steamer and the service was like day and night. The carpet was much more cleaner than this other company. I don't understand why they have better reviews than Stanley Steamer. When Stanley Steamer does them they are like new. We have used many carpet cleaning companies in the area in the last 5 years, because of our rentals. We didn't even have to change some of the carpets, because with Stanley Steamer they are like new.

"Well you can't hit a home run every time you step up to the plate, and BASIC Carpet Care is no exception. However much of her claims are wildly exagerated. This could be because she is remembering back ONE YEAR AGO, which is the last time we did any work for her. Let's take a good look at her claims and talk about FACTS. She starts by saying that "it was really the worst experience in my life." This alone should tell anyone of reasonable intelligence that she is intentionally making things sound as extreme as possible. If dealing with a service company is "the worst experience" of your life, than you have either had a very easy life, or you are not telling the truth. You be the judge on this. Next let's look at her claim that we rushed through the job. The FACT is that every time that we showed up, she was very late getting there. On the phone she would tell us that "the place is unlocked", but when we got there it was locked and we had to wait 30 to 45 minutes sometimes for her to finally show up. We have other customers and pride ourselves in being ON-TIME every time. She claims that on one job we were only there for 10 minutes. The FACT is that was the job where she was complaining that the closet was missed. You be the judge; How long should it take to clean a CLOSET? She claims that her rental houses are 100 years old. This is true. The FACT which she fails to mention is that the places were in deplorable condition and the carpets were in need of replacement rather than cleaning. She mentions that we broke a light fixture and a replacement cost of $7 to $10. We did break a light fixture. What this woman conveniently omits is that we sent her a check for $25 on 6/26/2012 to cover it. I have the cancelled check to prove it. At one house she had an entry area that had stains from latex paint all over it. I informed her that this would not clean up very well at all and advised against having us clean it. She was very adamant that we "at least try" to clean it, so we complied with her wishes. Afterwards she claimed that she refused to pay and stated that she never told us to clean it and misunderstood what we were trying to tell her earlier as she is new to living in the U.S. and does not understand the language well. This last part is true, as we had an extremely difficult time understanding her, particularly on the phone. The name she is using in her post is not the same name which we show in our records either, so let the reader draw his or her own conclusions on this. I have documentation to prove this as well as a copy of the $25 check we gave her for the light fixture, if anyone wants to see the FACTS. The bottom line here is that back in MAY of 2012, we told her that we no longer wanted her as a customer and we recommended that she call someone else. She was not happy to hear this and proceeded to tell my office person that she would "find a way to get back at us" for firing her as a customer. Please look at our other Angie's List Reviews in comparison and judge for yourself who is being truthful and who is stretching the truth."

Technician was prompt, polite, and responsive. He asked the right questions,used the appropriate products,did an excellent job in a short period of time. The rm smelled good,carpet was spotless. Unlike some previous experiences I have had, there were no spots or stains that showed up on carpet two or three days later. The carpet still looks fabulous. I am allergic to cats. I now occupy this rm, and have had no allergy symptoms. I would recommend this company to friends, family, anyone!

I purchased groupon to have my carpets cleaned. Staff was responsive and was able to quickly schedule service Technician arrived on time performed services quickly and efficiently . Company followed up with phone call to see if service was satisfactory. Overall a great experience.
