"Juan kept his commitments even in the face of inclement weather. His expertise was clear, yet he took the time to understand my objective for the project and communicated w/ my neighbor whose property was involved in the repair. I would definitely use Juan again."

"Willie was more than the professional we needed. As General Contractor's we often use these services to repair our wrought iron fences. Also, this contractor offers fabrication for metal and fence installation. We're continuing our relationship of services with this contractor for our properties large and small. Thanks Willie."

"Mario was fantastic he came out as soon as I called him and gave me a great price for a new porch ,steps and walk. His crew was also great They came out the first and did the demo work and did the framing for the new work. the second day they poured the concrete and finished the job. They also did a great job cleaning up and left the job site looking great. You will in no way be disappointed if you hire these guys. Great job Mario."

"Gene has been wonderful to work with and pays as much attention to details as I do! He is knowledgeable and dedicated to finding the best solutions for a complex project. We are only halfway through the project now but we will share more information and photos when we finish next week."

"I really could not have asked for better administrative and management service. The actual work and the carpenter himself was equally as great. The carpenter was creative in delivering a great product. I would like to assume that some carpenter would have charged a bit less, but it would not have been worth the savings to either get inferior service, a headache, or a questionable product."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Accurate measurements, sturdy materials, and seamless integration with other structures.

No rules state how much of a load-bearing wall can be removed. Rather, you need to adequately support any area that is removed. Support should always be added to as much wall area is being removed. Failing to support the area properly will result in structural damage.

Most Cape Cod houses are two stories tall at the peak, although they’re considered one-and-a-half stories tall because the steep roof pitch cuts off a portion of the living space on the second story. Unless you raise the roof on your Cape Cod house to add a dormer, the interior rooms upstairs will lose some usable living space to the sloped ceilings.

You should avoid drilling or cutting into load-bearing beams because removing material will weaken it and increase the risk of structural damage or even collapse. If you do need to drill into a load-bearing beam, speak with a structural engineer first to discuss where it’s safest to drill and the width and depth of the bit that’s safe to use.

Framing is the shell of the house. It includes several steps, including studs, plumbing, and electricity. A professional will ensure the wall frame is secured for the house’s structural integrity.

Framing prices change depending on the material and whether the wall is load-bearing. Most contractors use wood to frame a home, but metal is another popular choice.
