"Cams Roofing (Carlos) is an outstanding company (person). I highly recommend Cams Roofing. From first contact (here) to finished job, it took them 4 days! That includes coming to see the site, estimate, appointment, job and clean up. He explained to us what the job would entail, why he was choosing these options, how the job would be done and cost breakdown. When at the site, he explained what the problem was, why it was a problem, how he d fix it, and what to do in the future. After he was done, he explained any extra steps, mentioned potential problems with the roof he d seen (more as an FYI, monitor these way than selling) and explained how we could submit a claim to potentially get some money back. I HIGHLY recommend Cams Roofing, and will more than likely be hiring them again."

"LeafFilter doesn't clean gutters, they sell and install their LeafFilter Gutter products and only clean the gutters if you buy their product. I can't even begin to afford their product so I wasn't able to get my gutter cleaned by them."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

In most cases, there should be a small gap between the house and the deck, usually no more than ½ to ¾ of an inch. This space allows water and moisture to flow through instead of pooling against the side of your house. It also lets flashing protect your siding from runoff, which is one of the most common issues with decks.

The proper and most comfortable height for a deck stair riser, also called a step, is between four and seven inches. A height of seven inches is often considered ideal for a strain-free step that minimizes the risk of trips and falls. While it is possible to have risers up to 12 inches, this height can be challenging for children, pets, or individuals with mobility issues. For optimal safety and comfort, pair a seven-inch riser with a tread depth (or run) of at least 10 to 12 inches. Always check your local building codes, as they may have specific requirements that differ from these general recommendations.

In most cases, sanding an old deck before staining it is necessary to achieve a decent finish. If your old deck has a relatively new stain finish on it and you're only doing touch-ups, you can generally skip the sanding part. However, if your goal is to make the deck look and function better, sanding first is a must.

No, your deck will not rot under artificial grass as long as it is installed properly. When installed correctly, the artificial grass features a drainage system that prevents rotting. Simply laying artificial grass on top of the decking without proper installation will not lead to an effective drainage system that prevents rotting.

Building a deck isn't too hard if you’re handy with carpentry, have the necessary tools, and are willing to put effort into it. However, other factors, such as plans, permits, and design, can be hard if you don’t have experience in those areas.

Note: You’ll need another person to help you build the deck (especially for framing and setting the beams). Building a deck yourself will be very difficult if you don’t have an extra set of hands to help.
