"The customer service was excellent! I got my very reasonable quote the day before service was done. They took all the trees with them and some cement that was discovered under the soil without extra charge! They took time to explain to me what steps I needed to do to get rid of ivy weeds that are growing. Very professional and friendly! Left my place clean and it looks so much better! Thank you so much!"

"I couldn't be happier with the service I received today. Rico and crew did an excellent job removing my downed trees from a recent wind storm, and trimming a few other trees. I got an estimate and the tree work was done the very next day. Very nice guy. I highly recommend him, and will use him again."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Tree removal can be quite expensive, especially for larger projects, but you can use the following tips to help keep costs down:

  • Do the yard cleanup afterward yourself

  • Choose to leave the logs on your property and split them yourself

  • Opt to leave the stump in the ground and tackle stump grinding yourself

  • Pull permits for tree removal, if necessary, to avoid fines

  • Pay to have multiple trees removed at once

  • Remove tree in the late winter or early spring during off-season

Often, it’s the homeowner’s responsibility to handle the aftermath when a neighbor’s tree falls on their property. But if a tree has been obviously dead for a significant period of time and caused damage when it fell, a case can be made that the owner should have removed it, especially if the neighbor wrote you a letter about the tree or asked you to take it down. This can be grounds for a successful lawsuit in claims court and is a good reason to always pay attention to your trees and remove dead trees before they fall.

While palm trees can bring aesthetic appeal to your yard, they have a couple of drawbacks. The main disadvantage is that many types require warm climates, so if you live in a cold region, you need to ensure you pick a palm that can withstand the freezing temperatures. Another downside is that maintenance can be difficult because of their height, which means you will need to pay a pro to prune the tree as needed.

The recovery time for pruning depends on how much you prune, the species of tree, and how well you care for it afterward. All trees grow new wood and often sprout additional branches after pruning. Ideally, trees should recover from normal pruning after one or two years. Heavy pruning or slow-growing trees may take several years to fully recover.

You need to remove all branches affected by Dutch elm disease. If your tree has several affected branches, you will probably need to remove the entire tree. First, consult a pro to be sure that you’ve correctly identified it as an elm tree. Make sure the tree is properly disposed of with a plastic covering or through debarking, chipping, or burning.
