"I waited a year to write this review so that my wife and I could have a decent amount of time actually using what Aaron Prange (of Built by YOU) made for us. We have a small bathroom in a modern house built in 1968, which we wanted to renovate in an appropriate style. We had a recently acquired vanity top with fixture that we like a lot, but everything else needed to be changed. We consulted with several remodeling contractors before settling on Aaron. The reason was that he was the only one with a clear vision of how to proceed and really take into account our wishes. Others did not want to try retaining our new vanity top, while replacing the vanity cabinet, but Aaron was willing. He arranged for us to have a beautiful new cabinet made by Tim Graber Furniture, and he reinstalled our top seamlessly. He figured out how to expand the depth of the walk-in shower (replacing a narrow tub) without making the space seem cramped. And he had great ideas about lighting, as well as an idea for a large new mirror (also from Graber). We researched and picked out shower surrounds and plumbing fixtures (from Hoosier Winsupply -- highly recommended), flooring (from ColorTile), paint (from Bloomington Paint and Wallpaper), and we also had a mold remediation outfit (Bloom Environmental) carefully take out our moldy drywall ceiling. Aaron arranged for all the work to be done in the right sequence and with very minimal delays. He did a good deal of the demolition and construction work himself, with one co-worker. He was very good about communicating about the schedule and next steps. The work site was clean, with quilted moving mats forming a path from our front door into the bathroom. The job was completed maybe a week late, though much earlier than the other contractors were willing to promise. The job was done during the first half of August, which seems to be a busy time for contractors. We are thrilled with the result and enjoy using the space so much more than the old one. The cost was fair and stuck very close to the original estimate (barring a few things that we asked for after the estimate was done). Not everything was perfect: there was a minor alignment problem with the shower surround, due to nothing in our house really being at right angles. Some of the shower caulking has degraded by now and really needs to be refreshed, and a mounting flange for one of the shower fixtures has come loose. These are pretty minor compared to what could happen with a project in which the walls, ceiling, and much of the floor was stripped bare. I would not hesitate to call Aaron for a consultation on your next remodeling project."

"I first called Garage Doors plus when one of the springs on my garage door broke. They were very punctual and polite, but did not have the right spring to replace my broken one. They did a temporary fix and told me they would call when the new spring came in. A few weeks went by and I didn't hear anything. Then the spring on the other side broke, so I gave them a call back, and they were out within the week with two new springs and they replaced one of my pulleys as well. Aside from the initial non-call back, which wasn't really that big of a deal, the work was great and the price was very reasonable. I will definitely call them for service again!"

"Worst contractor I've ever worked with. Almost nothing was completed or done correctly. The windows are the only thing that we are completely happy with. Permits were not properly pulled, no inspections were ever passed, siding & stone veneer was improperly installed, room addition was never completed, patio & pergola were never even started. Job was estimated to take a couple of months; finally fired Mark Spencer of Legacy Windows and Doors after 1 year of being lied to. He stole our money. He is a crook."

"Let me tell you about the experience we had with Moore Restoration. NOT SO GOOD! Although it has been 4 years ago we thought we would write a review anyway. Some things you never get over. The workers themselves that did the actual physical work were VERY NICE! They did attic squirrel clean up, and mold, and Very expensive . $20,000 out of our pocket because the insurance company does not pay for this kind of work. The Management foreman over the team, from the owner, to the project manager, and other clerical people we talked to in the office were VERY RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, AND MEAN! Let me start out by asking How many of you out there would not be angry and unhappy if Moore Restoration quit in the middle of finishing everything that was in the contract that you signed, and left to go start another project elsewhere because they could make more money? that is exactly what happened to us here in Anderson, Indiana. Yes, this is not only a restoration company, but also an emergency service, SO BEWARE! The project manager said they had an emergency at a church one week. The next week they went to Cincinnati because of tornadoes. We waited naively thinking they would call and give us some idea where we would be on the list to finish. We realized after two weeks that probably not going to happen .How long was there emergency going to last? All SUMMER! And get this, we are in the middle of trying to put our house on the market but could not get a sign in the yard till they finished the job. The job had an extra add on in the contract to fix something on the roof due to squirrel damage and bad ventilation. This was becoming an undue hardship for us, and we did not even get an apology. Add that to the fact Project Manager could decide on his own discretion if the job could be completed because I, (Mrs.Simpson) became angry and upset the day they finally came out to pick up their equipment they had left behind from two weeks before. The Project Manager would not try to be flexible, and give me a date to be completed. He said I was unrealistic. I even called his boss before he came and it did not help either. He then used the excuse that he was afraid to return and have the job finished. My guess is that he has been through this before with some other customers before after reading some of the complaints on internet and did not really want to finish the job anyway. EXCUSES! EXCUSES! EXCUSES! IN conclusion, believe me, this company in response to this review if they dare, will not only me, but anyone else who becomes upset and unhappy, will make the customer sound as bad as they can to defend themselves. The owner never returned our messages, so I guess he was okay with how it was handled. Yes, the contract may say things can change with the weather, but we never thought we would be left in a mess because of it. Now the excuse is me the customer. I had a great attitude until they decided to pull a fast one on us. In the end for us, they only cared about the BIG COMPANY MONEY! Their emergencies come first before the LITTLE GUY! They had to have the money up front to even get started. Then when they had our money, and we signed the contract they can do anything they want. We would not recommend this company for restoration. "I usually keep matters like this private, but after weeks of being ignored, I feel I have no choice. On July 26th, I was forced off the road by a driver in an Indiana Foundation Company vehicle (US DOT #1387693). The driver swerved into my lane, causing me to hit a curb and damage my car. I spoke with Pat Diehl, General Manager, who told me to email my information so their insurance could follow up. Despite multiple emails and phone calls, I’ve received no response at all. If this is how Indiana Foundation Company handles situations caused by their employees, it makes me question how they run their business and how they treat their customers. Accountability and communication should be the bare minimum. All I’ve asked for is a response. Jeffrey C."
