"The siding crew was professional and did great work, and they were also very responsive to requests for adjustments. The siding itself was also very high quality. The window crew was equally good, and worked fast. We were very satisfied with the quality of the product and the installation. The also installed a new front door for us that looks great."

"Jeremiah was on time, friendly, and worked very quickly! He assembled my desk for me (which my movers had put together incorrectly, so he had to undo their work first) in no time, and put it right where I wanted in my office. I would definitely hire him again for other assembly projects I need help with in the future!"

"Great service for the price. Although they arrived late for the service they completed the project in less time than quoted. The only problems we had were 1) the caulk tape came undone leaving several gaps, 2) several pieces of trash were left behind (example: caulk tape, empty liquid nail tubes, and a flat head). A few perks were they vacuumed and swept up 99% of their trash and debris. One thing I wasnt prepared for is how many people showed up for the actual job. We have a small home and it got very crowded for several hours. For the initial quote there were only 2 men. When they came for the actual job there were 4 or 5 people. Not a bad thing at all. They were friendly to my dog and kids. Overall, a fair price, decent work, friendly service; a nice experience and would hire again. The bathroom shower head is stable and the new surround is so much easier to clean! The kitchen faucet no longer leaks. Very happy with the service we received."

Doors questions, answered by experts

Swapping out old patio doors for something new can boost your home’s value. Fresh doors make your home look more modern and polished, add tons of natural light, and create a smoother connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. Buyers love features that make a home feel open, stylish, and efficient, especially when updated doors come with better energy efficiency and security. High-end options like French doors can also bump the appeal even more, making your home stand out in a competitive market.

When choosing between an inward- or outward-swinging door, there’s no right answer. Inward-swinging doors are great for avoiding debris and keeping hinges inside for added security. Alternatively, outward-swinging doors can give you more space inside your home, and some homeowners feel they’re harder to force open. Ultimately, neither is “better,” but a door expert can help you figure out which fits your needs.

The best direction for a gate to swing depends on its location and purpose, but swinging inward is the general rule. An inward swing is often considered safer, prevents the gate from opening into public spaces like a sidewalk, and may be required by local building codes.

There are exceptions and specific considerations. If your property is on a slope, an inward swing might not be possible. For a deck gate, it's safest to have it swing away from any steps. In a backyard, the direction can be a matter of preference, though an inward swing can be helpful when carrying heavy items like a wheelbarrow into a garden.

Regardless of direction, ensure the gate can open fully without hitting any objects or blocking spaces. While an inward swing is standard, a gate that can swing both in and out offers the most flexibility if your setup allows for it.

Barn doors are in style due to the popularity of modern farmhouse and rustic interior designs. As with any trend, barn doors could fall out of popularity over time. That's why it's important to determine if you like the function and style of barn doors for your home. They can add character to a room and save on floor space, but aren’t right for everyone.

The best material for a patio door depends on several factors, including your budget, local climate, and priorities like style, security, and maintenance. Wood offers a classic, high-end look but requires regular upkeep. Vinyl is a popular choice as it's affordable, energy-efficient, and low-maintenance, making it a durable option for active households. Fiberglass is another durable material that stands up well to heavy use. For superior security, steel is a low-maintenance option, though with fewer design choices. Finally, lightweight aluminum makes doors easy to open and close, which is ideal for homes with children. The right choice balances durability, aesthetics, ease of use, and the amount of maintenance you're willing to perform.
