In 2005 my builder installed a Therma Tru Fiber Classic Front door system in our new home. The door system came with a LIFETIME WARRANTY (and was priced accordingly). The system consisted of the door, two sidelights and a transom. (as well as the frame), The decorative windows in the door, one sidelight and the transom began to fail in late 2019. I called the Therma Tru help line (after first emailing and getting no response) and was told I had to go back to the dealer for warranty claims. I contacted the dealer, Bender Lumber company. They sent out the third party wholesaler who they first said built the door system (they now claim a different party built the door system) to confirm the windows had in fact failed. Wholesale Building Materials tested the windows and agreed the three windows in question had in fact failed. Bender Lumber then offered a "$1,600 store credit, so I could replace my door", but only if I took down my Facebook review of their company first. Only after submitting a Facebook review and a company website review, was I finally contacted by Therma Tru. The Wholesale Building Materials representative and Therma Tru finally admitted Therma Tru no longer makes the components that make up my front door system. If they did this would be a simple change out of a new window for a bad window, but since Therma Tru doesn't make them anymore the entire door system must be changed out. Therma Tru has offered a $3,000.00 settlement, The builder says the best he can remember the door system cost $4,000.00 less tax, shipping and installation in 2005. In today's dollars that would be $5,400.00 plus tax, shipping and installation. This issue will have to be settled by the court. Therma Tru's Lifetime warranty is not worth the paper it is written on.
