I had not even considered that. Tom walked me through the insurance claim and also dealing with the insurance company which was not always easy. In the end insurance covered practically everything. Carefully removed the old shingles, put down a rubber membrane snow and ice barrier and then put down new shingles. So far problem seems to have been resolved.
