No doubt I would have gotten my money worth and they don't seem the type to cut corners, but since it was not a structural/safety concern on my job, I went with a cheaper option. I would not hesitate however to consider them again in the future and would recommend them for any job you need a good general contractor

The first estimate to replace exactly what was there, although reasonable, was simply more than I could afford. So Mike and I worked together to create a new design--for less than half the initial cost estimate!--and I actually love the new addition even more than I did before! It's much higher quality than the solarium was, and has taken that area from a pretty-but-useless space to a beautiful, functional seating area! I absolutely LOVE it! MIke is honest; he says what he does and does what he says. He stays within the cost and timeframe he promised; cleans up his mess daily; has courteous helpers, and even brought treats for my dogs every day. I highly recommend him

- D&S ConstructionDO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR. I have had to take him to small claims court twice. He took the money that was used to purchase the materials and used it for something else. He isn't reliable and will not return your phone calls. Work was never completed and he used the money I gave him for purchase of materials for his own private use. I requested a patio with a covered roof to be installed in September of 2011. I'm still waiting on him to do the roof over the patio. It has been 14 months now and he keeps saying he will have the materials delivered but never does. I have had to take Donnie Sturgill D&S Construction to small claims court twice, and now I've had to turn the account over for collection through an attorney. Both times in small claims court he was ordered to pay back the money he took and used privately rather than for the purchase of materials for my job. Both times he ignored the order, so I've had to hire an attorney to take him back to court to recover funds. "Manny is a nice guy with a short-term memory.
DOCUMENT document EVERYTHING in the contract
Specify with great detail all the services to be completed and all specific materials or construction details you will need completed in the way you want them completed.
Do not rely on Manny's assurances...he will forget (or ignore) items that take extra time or care to complete.
We hired Manny to remove and install a new fence. Discussed and emailed multiple times on specific requirements about location, which way the fence should face, specific requirements on the brand and type of mulch used around the fence and an additional request to replace a broken vent cover on our home.
Manny assured us he could take care of everything (in the email). His crew showed up 3 weeks later (no Manny) and began to install posts that were several feet in the wrong direction.
We were gone and discovered the mistake that night - "too late to move" said Manny; "I'll have to charge you another full day"
The next day his team (no Manny) began to install the fence facing the wrong direction. This time we tried to intervene but the project was halfway completed. We relented again and have 1/2 our fence with the slats facing the opposite direction.
At the end of the day, Manny's team has placed all the mulch - not the brand or size we specifically told him to use. Much smaller shreds instead of chunks and lasted less than 1 year
We asked Manny about replacing..."Mmmm, I don't remember that. It's not in the contract" says Manny. "email doesn't count."
Job got done. Workmanship was fine but really frustrating arguing with him about specific items we insisted upon, in multiple conversations, that he chose to ignore for expediency and his lack of oversight on the team

"<p>It cost me $4,000, which was way, skyrocketing not right. I think we could have got it done cheaper. They left out giving me some information. It takes them forever to get back with me on certain things. I wasn't sure if it was really the greatest job up there. He did recently switch out but they did not give us the right service stat. We finally got it from them, but if they would have given us the right one in the first place it would have helped. They are to darn expensive; it was extremely overpriced. </p>

"I waited a month to make sure everything was to our standards. We had Omar and another gentleman here doing out bath and shower. The installer Omar was awesome he has a 5 star his part did help. The sales associate has a 3 star do to he told me one thing and did not put all parts on. Did not notice until Omar showed me rye paperwork. I should have handled 2 in the shower 1 in bath but never put the second but kept repeating it as 3. The guy who came a measure got a 4 star. What I am knocking this company on is they need to not guess how much time a job takes. Stop rushing the installers. I want perfection if I am paying this about of money. I don’t want the installer feeling rushed. Don’t let someone that paper push schedule jobs let the people that do the job look at the job and schedule it. I had 2 bathrooms one was a gut and they gave him 1 day. Not good business but I made sure he took his time and did it right. I have step by step pictures how awesome these installers are.
