"The star is for the technician being very professional. We has a new AC unit installed 08/30/23 and the compressor already went out on 07/02/24, and we have to wait 2 weeks to get a replacement in 80-100 degree weather and no air condition with 2 dogs in the house. First it was 9 days now nor it is 14 days for the part .The unit could not be replaced or a compressor taken from another unit"

"I hired Efficient Systems to deal with my water heater in the house I rent out near Garfield Park. The pilot light kept winking out when the burner would quit at the end of a heating cycle. I had pulled my hair out and spent most of three days trying to diagnose and repair the thing myself. They told me it was probably the massive amount of lime in the tank getting too hot and exuding more heat than the pilot light thermocouple could take. That made sense, and it was not worth trying to salvage that water heater, so I had them install a new one. They did it for a flat ~$1350 or so. They installed the water heater, but the two servicemen who came out had a bit of a disagreement about, I'm not sure, timing among other things. They reattached the old overflow pipe, which is too short for code. Also, in attaching the flue they managed to work some mortar patches out of the basement wall, which they left on the floor. The tenant complained to me about the mortar, and I asked them to deal with that and attach a longer overflow pipe, which they did. I have attached the photos that Efficient Systems gave me after the initial install, the photos from the tenant, and the photos after the second visit when they address the flue and overflow pipe problems. I also asked them to replace the old shutoff valve for the house that is aged to the point where it leaks for a while after being used, and while they were at it, to remove the old bypass valve to a departed water softener that some previous owner used to have. I wanted them to install a new shutoff valve with some threaded pipe so that someone in the future could install a new water softener with less trouble than if it was all sweat fitted. Well, they didn't come prepared to do it when they replaced the water heater. I went on a trip to the East Coast for a week, came back, responded to their email quote with specific instructions and a diagram of what I wanted, and got back this little lecture about needing to set up an appointment to come into the office and meet with so and so and then have someone come out and look at things to see how to set up a new bypass valve, which is definitely not what I asked. It was like they had no record of who I was or anything about what I'd already said I wanted. Rather a pain when they'd had two guys working on the water heater, which is literally 12 inches away from the shutoff and bypass, two weeks prior. It's pretty clearly not going to be worth the bother to have them do it at this point; I'll either do it myself or call a regular plumber, probably the former. In all, it seems like the water heater was right in their wheelhouse; simple plumbing modifications, not so much."

"Northern Comfort System installed Heather in my rental property on December of 2022 and in March of 2023 the heather stopped working due to supposed water sensor failure. I have contacted Northern Comfort to repair the unit ASAP as cold weather was approaching, and was told that this will be fixed 4 day later as the part was not available meaning needed to be shipped. In recap the unit was 10K and it stopped working after 3 months... After calling and sending messages how disappointed I was with the service the technician who told my renters he will fix this in 4 days he came back next day to try some other fixes that didn't work. He brought 2 radiator heaters to help heat 5 bedrooms 3000sqf house that was already cold. I went and bough 6 additional electric heathers ($500) to help my renters stay warm. On Monday the tech. came out and midshaft fix the heather as it was not the water sensor but the electric panel of the unit (that they don't have on hand again), so we are waiting for part. The tech didn't call nor text to provide me with an update on the situation, but he send invoice what part need to be ordered. This is a cluster as this business have 24h operation with no parts on hand. I could have new heather unit from other company in 24h installed yet I needed to wait on part that wasn't even the problem and still waiting on the part that was/is. Maybe a correct root cause analysis would help here? Either way I am not happy, as were my renters living for 3 days in in house with no heath. It takes 50 years to build reputation and only 5 sec to ruin it. I will not do business with Northern Comfort aging."

The workers themselves that did the actual physical work were VERY NICE! They did attic squirrel clean up, and mold, and Very expensive . $20,000 out of our pocket because the insurance company does not pay for this kind of work. The Management foreman over the team, from the owner, to the project manager, and other clerical people we talked to in the office were VERY RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, AND MEAN! Let me start out by asking How many of you out there would not be angry and unhappy if Moore Restoration quit in the middle of finishing everything that was in the contract that you signed, and left to go start another project elsewhere because they could make more money? that is exactly what happened to us here in Anderson, Indiana. Yes, this is not only a restoration company, but also an emergency service, SO BEWARE! The project manager said they had an emergency at a church one week. The next week they went to Cincinnati because of tornadoes. We waited naively thinking they would call and give us some idea where we would be on the list to finish. We realized after two weeks that probably not going to happen .How long was there emergency going to last? All SUMMER! And get this, we are in the middle of trying to put our house on the market but could not get a sign in the yard till they finished the job. The job had an extra add on in the contract to fix something on the roof due to squirrel damage and bad ventilation. This was becoming an undue hardship for us, and we did not even get an apology. Add that to the fact Project Manager could decide on his own discretion if the job could be completed because I, (Mrs.Simpson) became angry and upset the day they finally came out to pick up their equipment they had left behind from two weeks before. The Project Manager would not try to be flexible, and give me a date to be completed. He said I was unrealistic. I even called his boss before he came and it did not help either. He then used the excuse that he was afraid to return and have the job finished. My guess is that he has been through this before with some other customers before after reading some of the complaints on internet and did not really want to finish the job anyway. EXCUSES! EXCUSES! EXCUSES! IN conclusion, believe me, this company in response to this review if they dare, will not only me, but anyone else who becomes upset and unhappy, will make the customer sound as bad as they can to defend themselves. The owner never returned our messages, so I guess he was okay with how it was handled. Yes, the contract may say things can change with the weather, but we never thought we would be left in a mess because of it. Now the excuse is me the customer. I had a great attitude until they decided to pull a fast one on us. In the end for us, they only cared about the BIG COMPANY MONEY! Their emergencies come first before the LITTLE GUY! They had to have the money up front to even get started. Then when they had our money, and we signed the contract they can do anything they want. We would not recommend this company for restoration.
