"Clay and his team communicated well before and during construction. Our patio turned out great and was in line with estimated value. Changes were discussed and agreed upon before implementation. Overall a very good experience."

"Excellent! I love my new stamped concrete patio! Carlos was great to work with as was his crew! They were informative, cleaned up each day, and worked hard to complete my project in a timely manner! I would hire Lasting Impressions again and highly recommend this company. They were terrific and my new patio is fabulous! Kudos to Carlos! He told me I was going to love it and I do!!!"

"We have been wanting a new season room ever since we bought our house 15 years ago. My husband is a retired 30 journeyman electrician. Our sales rep Jeff I had to answer 1,000,001 questions about his company, the workmanship, the warrantyâ  s, the materials used and every other question under the sun. Weâ  ve been shopping and comparing companies. Patio enclosures won hands down. Our sales rep Jeff was more than patient and knowledgeable. He never rushed or pressured us. Bottom line. There wasnâ  t any other companies out there that can compare with the quality that patio enclosures provides. Thanks Ike and Deb"

Patios questions, answered by experts

Whether it's better to add a sunroom or a regular room to your home depends on your goals. If you need extra bedrooms, building rooms with four standard walls makes more sense than adding a sunroom. If you don't need extra sleeping areas but would like to expand the living space of your home, a sunroom makes sense.

Yes, a sunroom will require a permit. You may just need a general construction permit for a screened-in porch or solarium. For a three-season room with electricity and a four-season room with electric, heating, and cooling, you’ll need additional permits for each of the utilities, as well as a roofing permit.

A sunroom may count toward your home's total square footage or living space if it meets certain conditions, which can vary by local regulations. Generally, for a sunroom to be included, it must be fully enclosed, properly insulated, and equipped with electrical access and a heating and cooling (HVAC) system, similar to a four-season room. It should also meet the same construction standards as the rest of the house. Three-season sunrooms that function more like enclosed porches typically do not count toward the total square footage and are considered exterior living space.

Increases living space and adds value to the home through enhanced utility.

Prefab kits like a small sunroom for around $20,000 or even a basic gazebo roof for as little as $60 can save you big over professional installation. However, you lose the option for customization, and these structures tend not to last nearly as long. As for bigger projects like a deck or patio, you shouldn’t go with the DIY route unless you’re fully prepped with the tools and know-how to get it done right. Mistakes can be frustrating and costly, so choose a pro if you’re looking to eliminate your risk of error.
