"I submitted request for an estimate via Angie's List after reviewing this companies information and that they did not charge for an estimate. I received a call from them the very next day which was impressive. The lady with Smalley Masonry, Kim and I texted backed and forth a bit to schedule a date and time for someone to come out, then her last text was to advise that there was a $75.00 estimate fee just to come out. This was NOT indicated in the information on their listing on Angie's List, if it had I would not have contacted them and wasted my time and theirs. This is simply the cost of doing business, in my industry we do not charge to provide any estimate."

My job required multiple trips and close attention to detail in order to replace existing mortar around historic brick with new mortar that was a reasonable match to color, texture, and hardness of the original. Other companies I had tried to work with didn't seem to want to go through the trouble, but Martin made several test patches so that we could fine-tune the replacement mortar recipe. The overall appearance of the re-pointing was great when his crew was done."
