I am a traditional bookbinder doing book conservation, repair and restoration as well as custom design bindings. I rebind bibles to preserve the personal notations, rebind favorite paperbacks into durable hardcover books, and bind custom blank books or presentation copies for authors. I use the best leather and archival quality materials in my work. I do this because I love books, and I love working with people who love books. Not many people do this kind of work any more because it is so labor intensive. My location is not open to the public, so I will arrange pickup and delivery to a convenient location - or you can mail your books to me. I try to answer all phone calls during typical business hours, and I return all messages as soon as possible. It is not possible to offer a warranty for repairs, since I have no control over how a book is treated once it leaves my shop, but I promise to provide excellent work. My goal is customer joy - the particular joy that only a finely bound book gives. Love your books!

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

Hiring someone to decorate your Christmas tree costs about $400 on average, ranging from $200 to $1,500 or more, depending on the type of decorating service, size of the tree, location, and materials used to decorate the tree. Price ranges vary by service type:

  • Handyperson: $60–$125 per hour

  • Professional light installer: $300 per hour

  • Interior decorator: $50–$200 per hour

  • Christmas tree designer: $600–$1,500 per tree

The cost to have your house decorated for Christmas depends on the extent of your holiday vision. Interior decorators charge between $50 and $150 per hour on average, so if your decorations are minimal, you could pay as little as $200 for a couple of hours of decorating. Interior decorators might also bill $5 to $12 per square foot, or a flat rate of $500 to $1,300 per room. You can also pay to have your Christmas tree professionally decorated for an average of $200 to $600. Contact a local interior decorator for a specific quote.

It’s unlikely. Not many baseboard heaters come with designs that offer the option to switch to a new kind of cover, but you can certainly ask the manufacturer for more information. Keep in mind, a cover with the same dimensions as your old cover isn’t guaranteed to fit because clasps, screws, and brackets may be in different places. The only way to be sure is to find an alternate cover that’s made to work with your specific model.

A hearth often looks like a tile or brick floor that juts out from and surrounds your fireplace. A hearth can be made of stone, brick, ceramic, or any other fireproof material. Brick offers a classic and traditional vibe, whereas a hearth made of marble or ceramic may lean more toward modern aesthetics. The most common depth of a hearth is 20 inches.

DIY is possible with essential tools and online resources. Professional designers ensure optimal functionality and aesthetics.
